The Senior BI Analyst (Reporting Lead) will own and shape how business reporting works at Global App Testing, ensuring teams across the company have access to reliable, well‑structured insights to support decision making.
What you'll be doing:
GAT operates with data across multiple systems, including relational databases (PostgreSQL), spreadsheets, a data warehouse (Redshift) and many third parties connected to it (i.e. Jira, HubSpot). Reporting requirements come from multiple stakeholders across the business. This role will bring structure and clarity to reporting by maintaining and improving dashboards, producing ad‑hoc analysis, and helping teams understand what data is available and what insights can realistically be produced.
This role will report to the Head of Engineering. On a day to day basis, you will work closely with Operational Delivery teams, Commercial (Sales) teams, Leadership, Product Management and Engineering. Engineering will continue to own the underlying data architecture and platform migrations, while this role will focus on ensuring that reporting remains accurate, usable and aligned with business needs as the data model evolves.
Beyond producing dashboards and reports, you will be expected to perform an internal consultative role by helping teams interpret data and shape decision making by translating business questions into clear analytical outputs.
The position is based in Cluj-Napoca and will collaborate with distributed teams across our global teams based in Romania, the UK and Poland.
What you'll learn here:
- How a global technology company uses data to support operational delivery, commercial performance and product development for some of the biggest technology brands in the world.
- How to collaborate cross functionally with engineers, product managers and operational teams as insight needs evolve alongside platform and data architecture changes.
- How to shape how data and reporting practices evolve across the company and across teams in multiple geographies.
- How to advise product, commercial and operational teams on how to leverage data analysis best practices in order to answer important questions about how we can serve our customers better.
Requirements
Who are we looking for:
- You are comfortable working in environments where data sources may be imperfect or evolving, and able to bring structure and clarity to reporting.
- You are not afraid to take initiative, experiment, implement successively better and better approaches to our BI needs.
- We rely on you to be communicative, open to share feedback and receive it. We offer the same to you - as equal partners.
- We want someone who is excited about working collaboratively and being involved in solution design and evaluation with stakeholders; this is a role where you will receive support and air cover for prioritising work but you will have to work alongside teams to understand their requirements
- You can communicate clearly, remain composed when managing multiple stakeholders and competing reporting requests and broadcast clearly the priority order of the things you are working on.
- You are confident in explaining what data can and cannot realistically answer and able to push back constructively when requests are not feasible.
- It's important for us that your approach to learning and growth doesn't differ from ours - we believe that if we don't get better, we get worse.
What do we expect:
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or Reporting roles
- Experience supporting reporting across multiple business functions such as operations, sales or product teams
- Experience working with BI tools such as Metabase, Looker, Tableau or Power BI
- Experience working with SQL-based data warehouses and operational databases
- Technical skills:
- Strong SQL skills are essential. Most analysis will be performed directly on warehouse and operational databases.
- Ability to query Redshift and Postgres databases confidently
- Experience building and maintaining dashboards in BI tools (Metabase preferred)
- Experience analysing and integrating data from multiple sources such as databases, spreadsheets and CRM systems
- Ability to structure datasets and queries to support reliable and repeatable reporting
- Soft skills:
- B2+ level English (clear oral and written communication)
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Ability to remain calm and structured when managing multiple reporting requests
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
- Ability to prioritise requests and push back constructively when needed
- Other:
- Based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania with willingness to be in the office two days per week.
- Nice to have:
- Experience in a technology business, either a service business or a product SaaS business.
