Senior Data Engineer (NXJ-102)

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the client’s team — someone who can design and build the data pipelines and storage layers that power AI-driven decision-making. In this role, you’ll help create the “data brain” behind intelligent agents that support e-commerce operations, enabling fast and accurate actions across inventory, pricing, deals, and more.

You’ll work in a small, high-performing team and take ownership of building scalable, reliable, and production-ready data foundations that help the product move with speed and precision.

This is a hybrid role in Malaga (Spain). We welcome candidates from anywhere in Europe who are open to relocation.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining ETLs

• Developing and maintaining data pipelines across the company

• Integrating new data sources, APIs, and reports

• Organizing and storing data efficiently in databases

• Working with SQL-based systems (and NoSQL as a plus)

• Supporting the Data Science team by bringing machine learning models into production

• Building backend infrastructure to support ML workflows

• Ensuring scalable and reliable deployment of models and data workflows

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on coding experience, with Python as your primary language

• AWS Serverless Expert: Extensive experience with Lambda, Step Functions, S3, and API Gateway

• The Data Stack: Proficient with AWS Glue (Serverless Spark) and Athena for scalable ETL and querying

• Expert SQL & Modeling: Ability to design schemas for both relational (RDS) and analytical (Data Lake) workloads

• API Ingestion: Experience wrangling data from external APIs (Amazon SP-API or Shopify experience is a massive plus)

• Product Mindset: You don’t just build pipelines; you understand why the data matters for the end user

• Bias for Action: You’re a fast learner, a clear communicator, and someone who gets things done
