We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join Apify's data team as it scales from 6 to 10+ people in 2026. You'll be the first dedicated data scientist at Apify, setting the foundations for how the company uses data science to drive business decisions. You'll lead complex projects from start to deployment, driving insights that directly impact product usage, growth, and customer success. Working across go-to-market (GTM), Growth, Product, and Customer Success teams as part of a central data function, you'll shape Apify's data strategy and build the practices that future data scientists will follow.
This role brings interesting challenges. We're not an e-commerce company with a straightforward customer-item-order-payment-delivery data model. The Apify platform supports many use cases with diverse datasets - usage-based billing, multiple pricing models, 19,000+ Actors, and more. Perfect for a puzzle solver!
We extract data from MongoDB, Mixpanel, Segment, AWS, and HubSpot. We use Keboola as the ETL tool on Snowflake (we manage it ourselves) and multiple reporting tools: Redash, Tableau, Segment, and Mixpanel for web traffic and user events, HighTouch for reverse-ETL, and HubSpot for CRM.

Lead and partner with business teams across GTM, Growth, and Customer Success to understand key challenges, define problems, and design data-driven solutions through hypothesis testing, experimentation, and analytics.
Build predictive models that identify activation likelihood, expansion signals, and usage patterns across 17,000+ Actors and multiple pricing tiers.
Own end-to-end development and deployment of machine learning models - from data collection and preprocessing to experimentation, modeling, and production - solving high-impact business problems.
Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights in product usage and customer behavior.
Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
Establish data science best practices, frameworks, and workflows that scale as the team grows in 2026 and beyond.
Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to define project requirements and build the foundations for Apify's data science function.
Proven track record of delivering business impact through data science - whether that's analytics, modeling, or experimentation.
Deep understanding of statistical theories and concepts (probability, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, clustering) and models.
Strong knowledge of predictive modeling and experience with product analytics (activation funnels, cohort analysis, usage segmentation).
Experience conducting statistical analysis to derive insights and make predictions.
Ability to identify and apply AI/ML techniques to improve data models and analytics, with an eye toward productionizing models over time as the team matures.
Strong SQL and Python skills and experience working with cloud data warehouses.
Comfort with ambiguity and foundational work - you enjoy building processes and practices where none exist yet.
Track record of proactively identifying opportunities, testing hypotheses, and proposing data-driven solutions.
Experience applying AI to make your work more effective and deliver better value sooner and safer.
Ability to explain complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders in English, both in writing and in person.
Experience working in a platform or marketplace business with usage-based pricing.
Familiarity with product-led growth metrics and experimentation frameworks.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
Get familiar with the data team, key business teams across GTM, Growth, Product, and Customer Success, and their workflows to understand potential projects. You'll meet with stakeholders to align on priorities and collaboration opportunities, giving you an overview of Apify, the business, and the scope of the team's work. You'll go through the data architecture and projects in Keboola to understand what data we work with and what value we provide across the organization. By the end of the month, you'll understand the high-level data architecture and can answer simple data questions about Apify.
Deliver your first deep-dive analysis on product usage and activation patterns - identifying what drives users from signup to sustained platform engagement. You'll have mapped Apify's key user journeys across Actors, integrations, and billing models, and proposed actionable recommendations for GTM and Growth teams. At the end of 3 months, you'll have an overview of the whole data architecture and extensive knowledge of how customers use the Apify platform.
Be a regular collaborator in business team planning meetings across GTM, Growth, and Customer Success - helping shape their strategies with data. You'll have established initial data science practices and workflows that the growing team can build on, and measurably increased data-driven decision-making in the teams you work with.
