About the role
This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape how critical infrastructure is operated, maintained and evolved in one of Australia’s most complex and visible environments. As Senior Manager, Engineering Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across engineering, maintenance and technical services that are essential to safe, reliable and efficient operations.
Leading a large, multidisciplinary function, you’ll balance day‑to‑day operational performance with long‑term asset strategy — ensuring assets perform safely, sustainably and cost‑effectively while delivering a consistently strong passenger experience. This role sits on the Facilities & Asset Management leadership team and plays a key part in influencing broader operational and investment decisions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to
- Lead end‑to‑end engineering, maintenance and operational services across a diverse asset base, ensuring safety, compliance, reliability and service performance
- Own and execute asset management strategies, balancing OPEX and CAPEX outcomes while optimising whole‑of‑life asset performance
- Drive productivity, efficiency and asset renewal initiatives, including development of business cases and management of operational impacts
- Build strong internal and external partnerships, including regulators, contractors, consultants, airlines and ground handlers
- Champion a strong safety culture, proactive risk management and regulatory compliance across internal teams and suppliers
- Develop, mentor and lead a high‑performing, multidisciplinary team while contributing to broader operational and budget planning at a leadership level
About you
- A senior leader with extensive experience managing large, multidisciplinary engineering or facilities teams in complex operational environments
- Strong background in asset management, engineering services, facilities maintenance or critical infrastructure operations
- Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands‑on operational leadership and commercial decision‑making
- Highly credible with stakeholders, able to influence outcomes across a complex internal and external landscape
- Commercially astute, with experience managing large budgets, CAPEX/OPEX programs, procurement and contract performance
- Tertiary qualified in engineering, asset management, project management or a related discipline (aviation or critical infrastructure experience desirable)
