Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified, experienced candidate to support project teams during the design/development and preconstruction phase of multiple projects. Responsibilities will include the review of construction documents to ensure details and design standards during the design/development are consistent with the Beedie requirements across all.
Key Responsibilities
Works generally to uphold and improve upon the quality and performance of Beedie buildings. Keeps up to date with changing legislation and building codes of practice to ensure complianceReviews projects’ compliance to construction documentation, applicable codes, standards, regulations, Beedie’s Standard practices and QMS requirements Responsible for maintaining and updating the consultant RFP template documents including discipline specific SOW’s in consultation with Development and Construction Teams. Work with Consultants, Development, Construction and Asset Management to establish and maintain Beedie ‘standards’ library for construction details and specifications that will include standard drawing details to cover a multitude of differing building conditions and ensure cross project consistencyParticipates in internal drawing, specification, shop drawing and other submittal reviews, if additional help is required by that project team. Develop and maintain SOP’s for all primary processes within Procore and elsewhere as required within the construction teamMaintain and update Department specific Manuals which document overall approach to workflows used to educate new employees and as a reference guide for everyone. Documents Construction Operations processes (checklists and/or inspection form templates) and educates project teams on how to adopt them into their specific project. Conducts frequent site visits to review and monitor project progress from a quality of workmanship perspective. Assists project teams with developing project specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and project QA/QC plans as required.Provides training to the project teams, when updates and/or changes are being introduced to Beedie’s QMS, when required. Assists the project teams with resolving and closing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and managing deficiencies more broadly. Conducts project quality reviews and/or audits of existing processes and report on findings to senior management.
Desired Skills and Experience
10+ Years experience in a consulting and/or construction management roleArchitectural and Building Technology diploma or equivalentStrong knowledge of commercial construction methodsUnderstanding tilt up construction methodology, building code and municipal bylawsMust be able to work with a wide variety of people in a fast-paced, often changing, environmentAbility to us AutoCAD is an asset, but not mandatoryStrong computer proficiency is required, including Word, Excel, and OutlookEnergetic, confident, drive and results-orientatedExcellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
