Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Service Delivery Engineer specializing in enterprise storage solutions. You will be responsible for the hands-on delivery, optimization, and support of Dell PowerStore (SAN), Dell PowerScale (NAS), and Dell PowerSwitch networking for a major client in Gagarin. This role requires deep technical storage expertise combined with strong service management skills to ensure data availability, performance, and protection. You will act as the technical escalation point for all storage-related incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Delivery & Operations:
• Perform hands-on administration, configuration, and optimization of Dell PowerStore arrays, including:
o Storage provisioning (volumes, LUNs, storage pools).
o Data protection (snapshots, thin clones, replication – sync/async).
o Performance monitoring and tuning.
o VMware integrations (VAAI, vVols).
• Manage Dell PowerScale (Isilon) clusters, including:
o OneFS operating system management.
o File protocol configuration (NFS, SMB).
o Data tiering (SmartPools).
o Data protection policies (SnapshotIQ, SyncIQ).
• Configure and troubleshoot Dell PowerSwitch networking for storage environments:
o Fiber Channel zoning and masking (if applicable).
o iSCSI network segmentation and performance tuning.
o VLAN configuration and QoS for storage traffic.
• Lead storage migration projects (e.g., data movement between arrays, storage refreshes).
• Implement and test disaster recovery procedures (replication failover/failback).
Service Management:
• Ensure all incidents, service requests, and changes are handled within agreed SLAs.
• Serve as the second/third-level escalation point for complex storage issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical incident response.
• Maintain accurate documentation of storage configurations, replication topologies, and runbooks.
Project & Continuous Improvement:
• Plan and execute storage capacity expansions based on growth forecasts.
• Drive automation in storage provisioning and monitoring using scripts (PowerShell, Python) or tools.
• Stay updated on Dell EMC storage roadmap and recommend upgrades or new features to the client.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
Technical Expertise:
• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage management.
• Deep expertise with Dell PowerStore (block storage, replication, snapshots, performance tuning, VMware integrations).
• Strong experience with Dell PowerScale (OneFS, file protocols, snapshots, replication, tiering).
• Solid understanding of Dell PowerSwitch networking as it relates to storage (Fiber Channel switches, iSCSI networking, VLANs, QoS).
Knowledge of backup integrations (Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup) is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with SAN fabrics (Brocade/Cisco MDS) and Fiber Channel protocols is highly desirable.
• Understanding of server operating systems (Windows, Linux) as they relate to storage connectivity.
Service Management:
• ITIL Foundation Certified (or working knowledge of incident, problem, and change management).
• Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Education & Certifications (Preferred):
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Dell EMC Proven Professional – Storage Certification (e.g., DCS-PowerStore, DCSPowerScale)
