We are looking for a Shop Manager / CDL A Driver to oversee yard operations, equipment logistics, and transportation for construction projects. This role is responsible for managing inventory, coordinating material flow, and supporting job sites through timely deliveries and pickups. The position combines hands-on shop management with CDL driving responsibilities across local and regional routes, including East Coast travel as needed. This is a strong fit for someone who can balance organization, logistics, and execution in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day shop and yard operations, including organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance
- Oversee inventory of scaffolding, equipment, and materials to ensure accurate tracking and availability
- Load, transport, and deliver materials and equipment to job sites using a Class A CDL vehicle
- Coordinate logistics for deliveries, pickups, and equipment allocation across multiple active projects
- Inspect trucks, trailers, and equipment to ensure proper maintenance and compliance with DOT regulations
- Support field teams by preparing materials, staging equipment, and ensuring job readiness
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, deliveries, and equipment usage
- Communicate with project managers and field supervisors to align schedules and priorities
- Ensure all yard and transportation activities meet OSHA and safety standards
- Travel regionally across the East Coast as needed to support project logistics and operations
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- 3+ years of experience in construction, logistics, yard management, or equipment handling
- Experience operating trucks, trailers, and transporting construction materials or equipment
- Strong understanding of inventory management and jobsite logistics
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and safety compliance
- Ability to operate forklifts or heavy equipment preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a hands-on environment
- Ability to travel regionally as needed to support deliveries and project demands
