LPA is seeking a SITES (Landscape Architecture + Civil Engineering) Design Technology Specialist who has a strong understanding of how complex aspects of site and building design interact, to be part of our uniquely collaborative design team.
The SITES Design Technology Specialist is an integral part of the LPA design technology team and will work closely with project teams throughout the company. Our technology team is a unified group that includes design, systems, data + AI, business and digital technologies. The SITES Design Technology Specialist will focus on how Landscape Architects and Civil Engineers leverage technology (including Civil 3D, 3D design tools, and other analytical software) during the design process. As part of our technology team, you will also influence other hardware, software and processes, which advance our pursuit of a better process that creates better results.
This role will be active in developing Landscape Architecture + Civil Engineering technology standards, researching and developing new processes, identifying goals and objectives for the integration of site in the design and documentation process, and developing methods for 3D design tool integration to improve the design process and coordination with Architecture and Engineering.
What You'll Do:
Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging design technologies for site design.
Be the first point of contact for landscape architecture and civil engineering designers experiencing issues related to design technologies.
Receive, prioritize and respond to requests for help with design technologies.
Contribute to the development of high-quality CAD based/3D software site models through documentation, coordination of model reviews, and maintenance. Engage with integrated design teams in CAD and BIM coordination.
Help develop, document and communicate interdisciplinary BIM Project Plans.
Set up and monitor the effective coordination of CAD and BIM based projects.
Create and organize CAD content and templates.
Provide CAD-related education and training to designers.

What we're looking for:
7+ years of relevant experience
Requirements:
Work experience in a medium to large-sized multi-disciplinary firm or landscape architecture, civil engineering, architecture or construction firm
Passion for 2D and 3D based workflows and tools
Expert knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil3D and content creation for landscape architects or civil engineers
Knowledge of Revit and Rhinoceros
Awareness of other design software such as Enscape, AutoTurn, and Navisworks
Awareness of project information management software such as Newforma and ACC (Forma Platform Services) and SharePoint.
Awareness of interoperability tools and automations such as Speckle and Grasshopper
Understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and data management
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Passion for great customer service
Ability to conduct limited amounts of travel
