Role Overview
We’re looking for a Los Angeles–based Social Media Manager to own our short-form and professional social presence—YouTube Shorts, Instagram, and LinkedIn—from strategy through execution. You’ll create and publish high-performing content, build a consistent brand voice, and drive measurable growth across reach, engagement, and qualified demand.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Programming
- Build and maintain a weekly/monthly content calendar across YouTube Shorts, Instagram (Reels/Stories/Feed), and LinkedIn.
- Develop platform-specific strategies (what wins on Shorts vs. Reels vs. LinkedIn) while maintaining a cohesive brand narrative.
- Identify recurring content series and scalable formats (founder POV, behind-the-scenes, education, FAQs, customer stories, trends).
Short-Form Production (Hands-on)
- Plan, shoot (when needed), and edit short-form video optimized for retention and repeatability.
- Write strong hooks, on-screen text, captions, and CTAs; coordinate thumbnails/titles for Shorts.
- Collaborate with internal SMEs/execs to translate expertise into engaging, “camera-ready” content.
- Stay on top of trends, audio, and formats—without chasing irrelevant hype.
Community & Brand Presence
- Own day-to-day publishing, community management, and comment/DM responses (or manage vendors).
- Protect and reinforce brand voice; elevate positive community interactions and manage escalations.
Growth, Testing & Analytics
- Set measurable goals and run structured experiments (hook tests, posting cadence, creative variants).
- Track performance using native analytics + tools; deliver weekly snapshots and a monthly insights report.
- Translate data into action: creative iteration, posting strategy, audience segmentation, and content themes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing, Creative, and Sales to support launches, announcements, events, and campaigns.
- Build lightweight workflows for approvals, content intake, and asset management.
- Manage freelancers/creators as needed (editors, shooters, designers) and keep projects on track.
Success Metrics (Example KPIs)
- YouTube Shorts: average view duration / retention, views per post, subscriber growth, traffic to key pages
- Instagram: Reels reach, engagement rate, saves/shares, follower growth, profile actions
- LinkedIn: impressions, engagement rate, follower growth, click-through rate, lead generation (where applicable)
- Operational: consistent publishing cadence, turnaround time, content pipeline health
