Gecko Robotics’ Manufacturing team is one of its newest and fastest-growing , building robotic and software systems that accelerate American industry and support critical government programs. As a Software Engineer, you will develop field and cloud software that powers robotic systems, process sensor data, and empower decision-making across the industrial base. You will collaborate daily with engineers of all disciplines, in addition to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experts, to help protect critical infrastructure and support national security initiatives.

Build cloud and field applications for use within the Military- Industrial Base
Create ontologies representing the digital thread of industrial assets
Architect robust interfaces between field and cloud software systems
Solve complex deployment problems as we ship software to edge devices around the US

Required Skills
5+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining production systems
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar object oriented languages
Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
Experience designing APIs and interfaces between distributed systems
Demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver complex technical projects end-to-end
Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams with varied technical backgrounds
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments with dynamic objectives
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Willingness to travel periodically to other Gecko offices (including Pittsburgh, New York, and Boston) and to client sites as needed
Preferred Skills
Experience building production systems using Python
Experience building frontend applications using React and Typescript (or JavaScript)
Experience working with 3D rendering techniques and frameworks
Experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense programs
Familiarity with industrial inspection or Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) concepts is a plus (not required; Gecko provides domain training)
