POSITION OVERVIEW
The ITS Information Technology Services Department is looking for a Software Engineer focused on customer and partner integrations to be a team member and individual contributor.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
You can expect to gain insight into every aspect of the ITS business model, departments, and critical business processes, including fleet operations, brokerage, and warehouse management. The Senior Software Engineer, Integrations role will develop, coordinate, implement and communicate the organizations initiatives on our custom EDI/API platform. You will be communicating daily with our top customers and their technology teams. Occasionally, you will be tasked with creating new/modifying Azure Logic Apps as well as creating and managing data transformation processes to ensure any modification does not have downstream effects.
The basic objectives of this position are to ensure stable, reliable, cost-effective, timely, and responsive EDI services in support of business operations. Moreover, you will gain valuable expertise as you grow your career at ITS. Additional activities include but are not limited to:
- Makes recommendations for business process solutions.
- Exercises some judgment with consideration of existing system configuration, business processes, defined policies and procedures to determine appropriate course of action and solutions.
- Basic technical/development abilities in support of program debugging and troubleshooting, understands self-development activities and seeks increased responsibilities.
- With minimal supervision, performs the design and develop well structured, optimized, secure and tested integration code. Modify, review, test, document and implement new and/or enhanced information systems.
- Gathers information from clients regarding business problems. Analyzes client information and defines business requirements. Works with clients to prepare integration software design specifications.
- Project management including coordination of external resources to meet partner obligations.
- Identify and communicate ideas to streamline or improve integration processes and procedures.
- Identify and communicate project risks that may impact operations.
- Collaborate with other engineers and ensure engineering best practices are followed in integration software development.
- Contribute to AI training, discussions, and solution development that drive scalability across the team and reinforce ITS Logistics’ tech-forward approach.
Technology Knowledge
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure Logic Apps
- Experience using .net C#
- Experience writing SQL Queries
Business Knowledge
- Experience working in the 3rd Party Logistics industry
- Understanding of the US Truckload industry or
- Understanding of the Drayage industry or
- Understanding of Warehousing and Distribution
- Experience as a business analyst, product manager, or project manager
Communication
- Experience communicating with business users
- Experience documenting processes, workflows, technical diagrams
Leadership
- Takes initiative to solve problems.
- Experience and willingness to work off hours to support the business
Education and Experience
- Business Information Systems Degree or Computer Science Degree
- Or 2+ Years professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding and Experience in API development
- Understanding and experience with EDI X12 formats including 204s, 990s, 214s, 210s, 940s, 945s, 943s and/or 944s
- Understanding and Experience in Azure DevOps, IaC, Security, SOC2
- Understanding and Experience using SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and/or Databricks
- Understanding of AI concepts
- Experience communicating with users, leaders, and customers
- Experience leading and mentoring offshore resources
- Experience working with Finance Teams
