We are seeking a full-time Structural Engineer with design experience. Applicants must be able to start immediately.
Responsibilities:
• The selected Engineer will plan and design engineering assignments relating to existing and future commercial/state funded projects.
• Assist with the preparation of basic studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, basic reports and supporting documentation.
• Additional duties include assisting in the preparation of quantities and construction costs estimates, the preparation of construction schedules, and in the preparation of construction drawings such as those needed for land development, roadways, highways, structures, and drainage projects, municipal buildings.
• Communicates with clients regarding project issues.
• Coordinates with technicians to ensure timely and accurate document or drawing preparation.
• Assists with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits from government entities.
• Reviews architectural and shop drawings for proper use of company products, with regard to application and performance requirements.
• Coordinates estimating, shop drawings and engineering support.
• Develops job/condition specific details for clients and architects.
• Provides support for product development process.
• Develops and supports engineering policies and procedures in conjunction with Engineering Manager.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience with state funded engineering projects, land development, roadway, water/wastewater, construction and state funded projects.
• MTA experience is highly preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License- preferred not needed.
• 5+ years engineering design for commercial projects: public structures, k-12, colleges, municipal buildings, hospitals, waste water, land development, roadways and state funded projects.
• Good working knowledge of planning, engineering design and construction documents.
• Knowledge of AutoCad and Microstation is key.
• ProjectWise experience.
• Excellent technical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on several concurrent projects and participate in the entire design process.
• Ability to read, understand and adapt to local agency standards and be able to communicate with agencies and clients directly and effectively.
• Project Management experience.
