OASIS Ascent is a short-term residential treatment program for teenagers, located in Provo, Utah. Our mission is to help adolescents and their families navigate crises safely and effectively. We provide secure, structured care and comprehensive assessments to identify underlying challenges and create individualized plans for long-term success.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Teacher of Academics to join the educational program within our therapeutic setting. This role is ideal for an educator who values connection, understands the power of individualized support, and finds purpose in helping students rediscover confidence in their learning.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized academic instruction for students in grades 7–12, ensuring continuity of progress in all core subjects.
- Implement Direct Instruction methods to assist in student learning and growth.
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement, progress, and accountability.
- Manage and deliver curriculum using digital platforms such as Edgenuity and Canvas
- Collaborate with clinical and residential teams to integrate academics with treatment goals.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
- Maintain classroom structure, positivity, and consistency within a therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
- Current or eligible Utah 7–12 teaching certification;
- Special Education (SPED) certification preferred.
- Previous classroom teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Skilled in applying evidence-based teaching methods, including Direct Instruction.
- Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently within a collaborative clinical team.
- A genuine passion for supporting students who learn differently or thrive outside traditional settings.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have skills in teaching students on an individual basis, the ability to counsel with students, parents and schools, have technical skills for the delivery of digital curriculum, be proficient in Edgenuity and GoGuardian and a love for students who don't fit the traditional mold.
- 21+ years of age
- Able to pass criminal investigation background check
- Eligible to work in the USA
- Able to pass motor vehicle record check
- Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
