Tools: Sketch, Illustrator. Photoshop, Figma
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and efficient Co-op student to own our merchant onboarding design process while growing their skills in core product and marketing design. This role is a blend of high-volume production design and ad-hoc creative challenges. You will provide the stability we need for our onboarding workflow, and in exchange, we will provide you with opportunities to work on live product features and broader marketing campaigns to build your portfolio.
Role Length
Starting at 4 months, with options to extend to 8 or 12 months
Core Responsibilities (80%): Merchant Onboarding
You will be the design lead for bringing new merchants onto our platform. Using our established Sketch and Illustrator templates, you will ensure every new client looks exceptional.
- Concept Generation: Create 3 initial design options per merchant using existing Sketch templates
- Prototyping:. Using a template, build prototypes to demonstrate user flows, select component customizations and prepare assets for mobile and web apps.
- Asset Production: Export final assets for development, including app icons, store assets, and rewards marketing templates.
- Problem Solving: Adapt low-quality client logos or non-standard fonts to work effectively within our design system.
Growth & Development (20%): Product & Marketing Support
When onboarding volumes are stable, you will support the wider design team to gain exposure to SaaS product development:
- UI/UX Improvements: Assist in designing new components or screens for the core mobile and web applications.
- Marketing Campaigns: Help create assets for social media, email newsletters, promotional decks and update website assets.
Design System Maintenance: Contribute to the organization and updates of our Sketch libraries and template files.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate
- Tool Proficiency: Fluent in Sketch (mandatory for our system), Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. We are currently transitioning to Figma, so there may be an opportunity to help with our migration.
- Production Speed: Comfortable working efficiently with templates; you find satisfaction in optimizing your workflow to be faster and more accurate.
- Detail-Oriented: You can spot a misaligned pixel or a wrong font weight instantly. You are able to follow an outlined process and follow a checklist of requirements and tasks.
- Eager to Learn: You are looking for a role that balances reliable production work with the chance to "get your hands dirty" in real product design work.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a recognized Co-op program (Design, Interactive Arts, or similar).
