UK Property Management accountant - CA/ACCA

We are looking for an experienced Property Management Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting and financial reporting for a UK real estate portfolio. The role focuses on rent accounting, management reporting, variance analysis, and supporting commercial decision-making, particularly within student accommodation or residential assets.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Manage rent collection, reconciliation, arrears tracking, and deferred rent schedules.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts for property portfolios.
• Perform detailed variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, with clear financial commentary.
• Conduct financial and commercial analysis to support asset and portfolio performance.
• Partner with commercial and operations teams to enable informed strategic decisions.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for property-related accounts.
• Post accurate journals, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
• Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate financial information.
• Track, update, and report KPIs, delivering actionable insights to management.

Required Skills & Experience

• Qualified or part-qualified CA / ACCA.
• Experience in UK property or real estate accounting.
• Strong understanding of management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Hands-on experience with property management systems such as Yardi or RealPage.
• Exposure to student accommodation / PBSA accounting is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
