The US HR Specialist supports day-to-day human resources operations for US-based clients, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a smooth employee experience from onboarding through payroll and ongoing HR support.
This role is ideal for someone who understands US HR fundamentals, enjoys structured work, and takes pride in getting details right. You’ll work closely with internal teams and clients to manage HR processes, support employees, and ensure compliance with US labor rules and best practices.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, execution-focused HR role.
You’ll manage onboarding workflows, support payroll processes, maintain employee records, and help ensure compliance with US HR regulations. Clear processes and tools are provided, but success in this role comes from ownership, organization, and proactive follow-through.
While this is not a leadership role, it requires a strong HR mindset — attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to communicate clearly with employees and stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
HR Operations & Compliance
Support day-to-day HR operations for US-based teams and clients.
Apply knowledge of US HR rules, regulations, and employment practices.
Assist with compliance-related documentation, audits, and reporting.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR files.
Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Support
Coordinate and manage employee onboarding from offer acceptance to Day 1.
Prepare onboarding documents, track completion, and ensure smooth handoffs.
Support offboarding processes, including documentation and system updates.
Serve as a point of contact for employee HR-related questions.
Payroll & Benefits Support
Assist with payroll preparation, processing, and verification.
Coordinate with payroll providers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
Support benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
Ensure payroll and benefits data is accurate and submitted on time.
HR Systems & Documentation
Maintain HRIS, payroll systems, and internal trackers.
Ensure documentation is complete, organized, and compliant.
Support improvements to HR processes, templates, and workflows.
Communication & Collaboration
Communicate clearly and professionally with employees and clients.
Work closely with Operations, Finance, and Leadership teams.
Escalate issues appropriately and help resolve concerns efficiently.
What You’ll Bring
2–4 years of experience in HR operations, HR administration, or HR support roles.
Familiarity with US HR rules, regulations, and employment practices.
Experience supporting onboarding, payroll, and employee lifecycle processes.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Comfort handling confidential and sensitive information.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Nice to Have (Not Required)
SHRM certification or currently pursuing SHRM (CP or SCP).
Experience supporting US-based clients or distributed teams.
Familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms (e.g., Gusto, ADP, Paychex, Rippling).
Experience in a professional services or outsourced support environment.
