We are seeking a Digital Marketing Agent to join our team, working collaboratively to enhance the communications and engagement efforts that support programs, services, and community initiatives.
Under the direction of the Acting Communications and Engagement Team Lead, the Digital Marketing Agent provides culturally informed digital marketing strategies and content creation to community members, including youth, families, and local organizations. This role involves developing and implementing social media campaigns, managing online engagement, creating inclusive and accessible digital materials, and analyzing performance metrics to ensure outreach effectiveness.
The Digital Marketing Agent will also engage in community relations activities to support clients and strengthen connections within the community.
This is a term position with an ending date of March 31st, 2026 with a possibility of extension.
What You'll Do
Digital Strategy & Campaign Management
- Plan, develop, and execute digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels (social media, email, search engines, display ads).
- Manage paid advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram Ads, LinkedIn Ads) to maximize ROI.
- Conduct A/B testing on ads, landing pages, and email campaigns to optimize performance.
Content Creation & Management
- Create engaging, SEO-friendly content for websites, blogs, and social media platforms.
- Design and schedule social media posts to maintain consistent brand presence.
- Collaborate with designers and content creators for multimedia assets (graphics, videos).
SEO & Website Optimization
- Perform keyword research and implement SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings.
- Optimize website content and structure for better user experience and search visibility.
- Monitor site performance and recommend improvements for speed and usability.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyze campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and CRM dashboards.
- Prepare detailed reports on KPIs (click-through rates, conversions, engagement) and provide actionable recommendations.
- Monitor trends and adjust strategies based on data insights.
Email Marketing
- Design and execute email marketing campaigns, including newsletters and promotional emails.
- Segment audiences and personalize content to improve engagement and conversion rates.
- Monitor deliverability and open rates, making adjustments as needed.
Social Media Management
- Manage and grow social media accounts across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
- Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly to maintain engagement.
- Monitor social media trends and incorporate them into campaigns.
Brand & Collaboration
- Ensure all digital content aligns with brand guidelines and tone.
- Work closely with marketing, sales, and design teams to coordinate campaigns.
- Support cross-functional projects that require digital marketing expertise.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on emerging digital marketing trends, tools, and technologies.
- Recommend new strategies and platforms to enhance digital presence.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in digital workflows.
Other Duties
- Additional responsibilities as needed to support the community and uphold our shared values.
Working / Special Conditions
- Initial and ongoing employment is subject to submission of a clear Criminal Record Review Program Check to ensure the safety and trust of the communities we serve. This check will be conducted every five years.
- Initial and ongoing commitment to the values and guidelines of Sq'éwqel (Seabird Island Band), including our policies, procedures, standards of practice, and laws, is essential. This commitment supports our collective work, the community, and the responsibilities of this role.
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license and have access to safe and reliable transportation, insured for community-based use, to effectively engage and support projects, work, and initiatives.
- Flexibility in working hours may be required, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the needs and schedules of events, meetings, and engagements. Employees will be given as much notice as possible to any changes in schedule.
What you'll Bring
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–3 years experience in digital marketing, social media management, or online advertising.
- Strong knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and paid advertising platforms.
- Excellent communication, creativity, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of Indigenous cultures,
traditions, and contemporary issues.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Preferred:
- Indigenous candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Lived experience as a member of a First Nations community.
- Knowledge and understanding of Seabird Island’s culture, traditions, teachings, community dynamics.
- Ability to respond quickly and professionally to community or colleague needs and inquiries.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
