Job Summary :
We serve high quality content to millions of customers across millions of devices, all of which are constantly evolving and changing. This role is within our Marketing team and serves as the link between Marketing and Creative teams to ensure cohesive campaign execution. Defines show positioning, sets marketing objectives, and translates strategy into clear creative briefs. Oversee creative alignment with target audience and tone, manages timelines, and ensures consistency across all media platforms.
About the team:
The OAP team at Star Maa is responsible for building the channel’s identity and audience connect through impactful on-air communication. The team works across fiction, non-fiction, and movies to create fresh, engaging promos and campaigns that resonate with Telugu audiences. By combining creativity with cultural insight, the team defines the channel’s look and feel, ensuring it remains distinctive and competitive. With strong collaboration across content, marketing, and strategy, the OAP function plays a pivotal role in enhancing viewership, brand recall, and audience loyalty.
Key Responsibilities:
Ideate, conceptualize, visualize, write, produce, direct, and edit unique on-air promos for all content across the Star Maa networkEnsure promos deliver fresh creative perspectives and consistently stay ahead of the competitionInfuse local flavor and Telugu cultural sensibilities into campaigns to ensure relevance and audience connectMaintain high creative and production standards, aligning with the channel’s philosophy, and delivering campaigns on time and within budgetCollaborate with content teams to develop impactful briefs and campaign ideas that maximize engagementStrategize and generate creative promo concepts to keep audiences excited and anticipating episodesDefine and execute the channel’s visual identity through packaging and graphical elementsPartner with Marketing and Strategy teams to deliver region-specific campaigns tailored for local audiencesProduce showreels, AVs, and flash presentations as needed for internal and external stakeholdersFoster creativity, innovation, and collaboration within the team, providing leadership and mentorship to the OAP and Graphics functions.
Skills & Attributes for success:
Strong creative vision with the ability to craft compelling narratives through promos and packagingDeep understanding of Telugu culture, audience sensibilities, and regional entertainment preferencesExpertise in promo ideation, direction, and editing, with strong visual and storytelling instinctsProven ability to lead creative teams, inspire innovation, and mentor talentStrong collaboration skills to work seamlessly with content, marketing, and strategy functionsAbility to deliver high-quality creative output under tight timelines and budgetsAgility to adapt to changing trends and competition dynamics, while driving differentiation.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Graduate or postgraduate degree in Mass Communication, Media, or related creative field10–12 years of experience in on-air promotions, creative direction, or content packaging, preferably within television or entertainmentProven track record in conceptualizing and delivering high-impact campaigns for GEC or regional channelsHands-on experience in promo direction, editing, and graphics supervisionPrior leadership experience in managing creative and graphics teams is strongly preferred.
