Summary
GeneDx is hiring a Vice President, Health Systems to lead a team that owns engagement, partnership, and growth across our top priority health systems. This is a newly evolved leadership role that blends enterprise sales leadership with segment strategy and infrastructure building.
You will set the health systems commercial strategy, build the operating cadence and sales infrastructure to scale, and directly drive outcomes—creating and advancing opportunities across the segment funnel. You’ll work cross-functionally with Marketing, Strategic Partnerships, Sales, and the Executive Team to ensure the right motions, messaging, and coverage are in place to win and expand in complex accounts.
This leader is equally comfortable building the big-picture plan and being in the field: showing up at the right industry events, creating executive-level conversations, generating and converting leads, and keeping senior stakeholders engaged from first meeting through long-term partnership.
Job Responsibilities
Health Systems Strategy & Go-to-Market Leadership
- Establish and continuously refine the Health Systems segment strategy: account prioritization, coverage model, value narrative, and routes to expansion within complex organizations.
- Build the sales infrastructure needed to scale a growing team: repeatable plays, qualification standards, and a consistent operating cadence across the segment funnel.
- Translate market dynamics and customer needs into clear priorities—partnering with internal stakeholders to remove friction and accelerate adoption.
Enterprise Revenue Growth & Opportunity Leadership
- Own growth across identified top health systems by driving:
- expansion into new departments/service lines,
- deeper clinical and executive alignment,
- broader adoption of GeneDx genomic solutions.
- Personally lead or co-lead high-impact, multi-stakeholder enterprise pursuits, including negotiation strategy and executive-level relationship mapping.
- Ensure health system opportunities are advanced with discipline: tight next steps, compelling mutual value, and measurable progress.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for engagement and partnership within top health systems.
- Set performance standards and a culture of accountability + collaboration, ensuring the team executes consistently while continuously improving.
- Build clarity across roles and handoffs—ensuring “right people, right places, right time” across major accounts and initiatives.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Internal Influence
- Partner closely with Marketing to create targeted campaigns, event strategies, and account-based motions that generate and nurture qualified leads.
- Collaborate with Strategic Partnerships, Sales leadership, and Medical/Clinical stakeholders to strengthen credibility and unlock enterprise-wide adoption.
- Provide actionable voice-of-customer and competitive insights to inform commercial strategy and organizational priorities.
External Presence & Relationship Building
- Represent GeneDx at industry events, executive forums, and health system meetings, building visibility and trust while proactively generating pipeline.
- Build and maintain relationships with C-suite, clinical, and operational leaders—positioning GeneDx as a long-term strategic partner.
- Maintain consistent executive engagement: “create the conversation, get the lead, keep it warm, and convert it.”
People Manager
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, or related) strongly preferred.
- 20+ years of commercial or business development experience and success navigating the complex infrastructure of healthcare systems.
- 15+ years in a leadership role managing enterprise or health system sales teams.
- Demonstrated success negotiating and managing complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships and contracts.
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams within fast-paced, evolving organizations.
- Deep understanding of healthcare ecosystem dynamics, including payer, provider, and institutional decision pathways.
- Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Travel up to 60% to cultivate relationships, drive deals, and represent GeneDx in the market.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position. The employee will work from a home office or other suitable remote location with reliable high-speed internet access. Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment using standard office equipment including computer, phone, and video conferencing tools. Your standard work schedule and hours will be established in collaboration with your leader and may be adjusted to align with evolving business needs.
