About Lean
Lean Technologies is the leading financial infrastructure provider in the Middle East. We power some of the region’s largest companies with APIs that enable payments, account verification, financial data access, and other critical financial infrastructure.
We started as an open banking aggregator and quickly became the de facto leader in account aggregation and payment initiation in the region. As the ecosystem evolved, Lean expanded into a broader financial infrastructure platform. Today, we power millions of transactions and verifications every month and work with leading enterprises such as Careem, Binance, Majid Al Futtaim, Bupa, and many others across multiple industries.
Because financial infrastructure in the region is still developing, Lean has built a deep suite of products across multiple markets and regulatory frameworks. Our platform spans several jurisdictions, regulators, and product lines, making the overall narrative powerful but also complex.
As Lean enters its next phase of growth, we are looking for a senior marketing leader who can help define and communicate our story to customers, partners, investors, and the broader ecosystem.
This role will combine Product Marketing leadership with broader Marketing ownership, turning marketing into a true growth engine for the company.
The role
Lean is hiring a VP of Marketing to lead product marketing, positioning, and demand generation across a complex, multi-product, multi-market financial infrastructure platform. You'll own Lean's narrative architecture - how we communicate to enterprises, investors, partners, and the broader ecosystem. You'll build marketing into a growth engine. You'll lead and scale the function, working directly with our product, commercial, and leadership teams to define strategy and drive outcomes.
You’ve done this before at companies selling complex infrastructure to enterprises, and you recognize that Lean is at an inflection point where marketing matters.
What you’ll do
Product Marketing Leadership
Define Lean’s overall messaging, positioning, and narrative across products and markets
Translate complex financial infrastructure products into simple, compelling stories
Develop clear product narratives for customers, investors, and internal teams
Lead product launches and go-to-market strategies across multiple markets
Work closely with product teams to deeply understand product capabilities and roadmap
Marketing & Growth
Build marketing into a scalable growth engine for Lean
Lead demand generation and inbound pipeline development
Oversee content, brand, events, and growth marketing
Ensure consistent messaging across all channels and regions
Support sales teams with strong storytelling and positioning
Team Leadership
Lead and scale Lean’s marketing organization, including product marketing, content, growth, and events
Manage and mentor an existing team of ~7–8 people
Work closely with design, product, and commercial teams to ensure strong cross-functional alignment
Strategic Narrative
Help articulate Lean’s evolution from open banking leader to full financial infrastructure platform
Develop a narrative that reflects our multi-product platform and regulatory leadership across the region
Ensure the company communicates effectively despite regulatory constraints and multi-market complexity
What we’re looking for
Deep Product Marketing Expertise
10+ years of experience in product marketing and B2B marketing leadership roles
Strong background in API-driven, developer-first, or infrastructure businesses
Experience working with complex multi-product platforms
Technical Depth
Ability to deeply understand technical products and infrastructure APIs
Comfortable engaging with product, engineering, and enterprise technical stakeholders
Able to simplify complexity without losing accuracy
Narrative & Positioning
Exceptional storytelling and positioning skills
Ability to define clear differentiation in competitive markets
Experience building company narratives that resonate with customers and investors
Leadership Experience
Experience leading and scaling marketing teams
Comfortable managing cross-functional initiatives across product, sales, and leadership
Enterprise GTM Understanding
Experience selling to large enterprises
Strong understanding of enterprise sales cycles and revenue motions
Regional and Regulatory Complexity
Experience operating in highly regulated industries is a strong plus
Ability to navigate multi-market environments and regulatory constraints
NB. While we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. If you identify with the team and mission, but not all of our requirements, then please still apply!!
We’re building the financial infrastructure for MENA. Not as a slogan, as a fact.
Since 2019, we’ve become the first regulated Open Banking and Open Finance company operating across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. We’ve processed billions of dollars. We connect millions of accounts. We enable companies like Binance, Careem, and Etisalat to build products that were previously impossible in this region.
Our recent $67.5M Series B from General Catalyst and Sequoia isn’t just validation: it’s fuel. We’re expanding into new markets, launching new products, and setting the pace for what financial innovation looks like in MENA.
We solve hard problems. We move fast. We hold ourselves to a high standard. And we’re looking for people who’ve done this before to help us do it right.
If you’re motivated by building something that lasts, not just something that scales, Lean is where you need to be.
