Position Overview
Drapery Service Person supports the final steps of drapery production by folding, labeling, pinning, and helping package finished draperies. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to use hand tools, and comfort working on your feet in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Fold and prepare draperies by flat folding (fan folding) and banding them for packaging
- Place origin labels on draperies using a flat iron, ensuring proper positioning and adhesion
- Pin draperies accurately using a Jet Pinsetter, following safety and quality guidelines
- Move racks and draperies between inspection and folding stations safely and efficiently
- Assist with bagging and packaging finished draperies for shipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety procedures and housekeeping standards
- Follow written and verbal instructions related to production orders and quality standards
- Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues to supervisors immediately
- All other duties as assigned
Who you are
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Able to read and use a tape measure accurately
- General knowledge of fabrics and how to handle them
- Comfortable using basic hand tools and equipment (e.g., flat iron, pinsetter)
- Able to pass a color blindness test
- Strong attention to detail with accuracy in names, numbers, and spelling
- Capable of standing for extended periods (up to 7+ hours per shift)
- Physically able to lift, move, and handle heavy draperies (with assistance when needed)
- Follows written and verbal instructions with a safety-first mindset
- Works well in a team and maintains a clean, organized work area
