Eurobank Private Bank Luxembourg S.A. is engaged in the business of providing Private Banking, Wealth Management and Investment services for corporate and private clients. In order to reinforce its Compliance department, our Bank is currently looking for a:
AML/CFT/Sanctions and Monitoring Officer (m/f/d) (m/f/d)
The AML/CFT/Sanctions and Monitoring Officer plays a key role in ensuring the Bank complies with all AML/CFT/Sanctions regulatory requirements. The position is required by the established regulatory framework as it is part of the system of internal controls (2nd line of defense) that the Bank must have in place. The AML/CFT/Sanctions and Monitoring Officer has a direct reporting line to the Head of Financial Crime (FC)/Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and acts as back up of any other AML/CFT/Sanctions Compliance Officer as needed.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assessing the alerts generated by the ex-post and the ex-ante transactional monitoring system, the real time alerts generated by the ex-ante transactions filtering system, as well as the alerts generated by the ongoing name screening of the clients’ database.
- Assist in gathering and submitting information related to the preparation of “suspicious” transactions report to the local FIU in accordance with local regulatory requirements and provide respective support to the Head of Financial Crime/Deputy MLRO.
- Oversee the Customer Risk Assessment at the onboarding of new Customers as well as the annual assessment of Higher Risk Customers. Supervising the onboarding of clients to ensure completeness of the account opening documentation.
- Assist in the review of higher risk clients including PEPs, dormant accounts, clients under surveillance, incomplete accounts etc.
- Keep abreast of developments in the relevant legislations.
- Assist in developing KYC and AML/CFT/Sanctions policies and procedures in line with applicable regulatory and Eurobank Group requirements.
- Conduct controls on activities carried out by the first line of defense and, as the second line of defense, verify compliance by the Bank with all the AML/CFT/Sanctions professional obligations.
- Maintain ongoing communication with representatives of the Bank’s units in order to discuss the AML/KYC/CFT implications of existing and new products and processes/policies/procedures, as necessary.
- Control compliance with the professional obligations applicable to branches and majority-owned subsidiaries by the Bank in Luxembourg and abroad. To this end, analyse, among others, the summary of all the reports of the audit missions and, where appropriate, of the compliance function of these entities that the Bank must obtain.
- Participate in the quarterly, and/or monthly, and/or yearly reports issued by the Head of FC/Deputy MLRO (internal governance bodies, regulators, auditors, fund management company,..)
- Assist in preparing, at least once a year, a summary report on the AML/CFT activities to be submitted to the Head of FC/Deputy MLRO .
- Assist in any internal audit, external audit, Group Compliance or regulator on-site visit regarding AML/KYC/CFT/Sanctions matters.
- Review and/or issue various correspondence (clients, national competent authorities, bank counterparties).
Requirements
- Education: University degree or equivalent in Law (preferably) or equivalent master.
- Experience: minimum 6-8 years AML/CFT/Sanctions experience in a comparable function in the banking sector in Luxembourg.
- Hard skills: Proficient computer skills, working knowledge of the various laws and regulations of the Luxembourg financial sector.
- CAMS Certificate – International Certificate for Certified Anti-Money Laundering required.
- Soft skills: attention to detail, strong organizational, analytical and logical skills.
