Position Overview
We are seeking for an experienced IT professional to join the team as a Head of IT Data Governance & Analytics Section.
In this role, you will lead and govern the bank’s in-house data, reporting and analytics capabilities across operational, management and regulatory reporting. You will own the data & analytics roadmap, ensure reliable production operations, deliver BI/ETL solutions, and align analytics delivery to business priorities, regulatory requirements and IT standards.
The position offers the opportunity for interaction and exposure to stakeholders in all Bank units and external suppliers, aiming to understand business needs and operations, involve appropriate resources and propose solutions that will increase the operational efficiency of the Bank.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership, Governance & Strategy
- Member of IT Management Team and Change Advisory Board; represent Data & Analytics in governance forums.
- Define, document and maintain the Data & Analytics product/service vision and roadmap (including regulatory reporting).
- Prioritize deliverables, manage commitments and report progress against KPIs and project methodology.
- Define use cases, epics, stories and maintain the backlog.
Delivery & Solution Development
- Lead or participate in design and delivery of large-scale BI solutions (including Temenos Analytics).
- Produce functional specifications, design ETL routines, data marts and reporting models; build/oversee data visualization artifacts.
- Perform data discovery, root-cause analysis and recommend/remediate data quality issues.
- Document business/functional requirements and design specifications; coordinate UAT and acceptance.
Data Platform, Operations & Reliability
- Maintain and optimize the Data Warehouse, data marts and database landscape for performance, efficiency and resource utilization.
- Review and monitor data flows, intervene on production incidents, and ensure EOD/ETL flows run reliably and on time.
- Manage file resizing, purging, archiving and disk space; review patching and upgrades for side effects.
- Ensure user provisioning, access controls and data security for analytics environments.
Regulatory & Reporting Ownership
- Own roadmap and delivery for enterprise and regulatory reports; keep deliverables aligned with local regulatory changes.
- Act as subject-matter expert for regulatory reporting requirements and ensure timely implementation of changes.
- Stakeholder, vendor & project coordination.
- Liaise with business stakeholders to translate needs into analytics deliverables; provide subject-matter expertise.
- Coordinate with Project Teams and Business Units on budgeting, vendor management and dependency resolution.
- Supervise external suppliers’ activities, approvals and invoicing; ensure SLAs and KPIs are met.
People Management & Team operations
- Manage, coach and allocate tasks for direct reports; monitor progress and performance.
- Control, monitor and report RTB & CTB tickets related to Data & Analytics; ensure incidents, service requests and changes meet agreed SLAs.
- Provide on-call/stand-by support and participate in IT operation shifts as required.
Continuous Improvement & Best practices
- Drive improvements in ETL/DWH performance, process efficiency and automation.
- Ensure documentation of solutions, runbooks and operational processes; promote Agile, Scrum and PM best practices.
- Oversee lifecycle from ideation to continuous optimization of analytics services.

Skillset specific to the role
Required
- Proven experience producing functional specifications, designing data structures and building reporting models for DW/data marts.
- Advanced SQL programming skills and practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Hands‑on experience with MS SQL Server tooling: SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and Power BI (development and operational support).
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL development (ETL development is a strong advantage).
- Practical experience with Temenos Analytics (Temenos Insight).
- Solid understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and experience delivering regulatory reports in banking.
- Familiarity with data security, user provisioning and production operations (EOD/ETL scheduling, batch processing).
Strongly preferred
- Direct experience with regulatory reporting frameworks: FinRep, CoRep, MiFIR, EMIR, AnaCredit, IFRS9, Basel reporting, CRS.
- Experience with Wolters Kluwer DataFoundation and/or Regnology (Regulatory Reporting Engine).
- Knowledge of payments-related reporting (e.g., CDDP, CESOP, PSD2) and private banking procedures.
- Familiarity with price/data provider platforms (Bloomberg, Refinitiv/Reuters, Morningstar).
- Basic MS SQL Server administration, Windows and batch scripting for operational tasks and automation.
- Experience supervising vendors/suppliers and managing delivery of analytics/regulatory projects.
Desirable
- Practical accounting knowledge for financial institutions/banks.
- Experience improving DWH performance, disk/archive management and operational runbooks.
- Prior exposure to Agile/Scrum, backlog management (epics/stories) and UAT coordination.
- Experience in on-call/standby production support.
Soft skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to communicate at all organizational levels.
- Analytical, problem‑solving mindset with attention to data quality and root‑cause analysis.
- Excellent written documentation skills (requirements, design, runbooks).
- Ability to multitask, prioritise work and lead a small technical team effectively.
- Collaborative team player with coaching/people‑management experience
Requirements
You will be a great candidate if you:
- Have minimum 7 years’ relevant experience in data, reporting or analytics roles within banking/financial services; prior experience in a similar leadership role preferred.
- Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Have a proven background as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, BI Engineer or similar delivery-focused role, with experience defining epics/stories and managing backlogs.
- Have strong business acumen and customer-centric mindset; able to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication; able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
- Are motivated, proactive, with strong time-management, critical-thinking and multitasking abilities.
- Are experience leading small technical teams and coordinating vendors/suppliers.
- Are fluent in English (written and spoken).
