Job Title: Associate Director, Relationship Management, Japan

Job Summary:
Local Tokyo-based representative of Cohen & Steers. The position particularly supports the Relationship Management team in Japan for existing and future institutional clients of Cohen & Steers (“Clients”). This individual will also support the New York-based institutional relationship management department and other members of the Cohen & Steers relationship management team. Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Assist with preparation for client meetings, reporting and conference calls
- Gathering portfolio data and information
- Completing custom client reports
- Completing client questionnaires
- Routinely analyzes client questions, requests and problems; utilizing product and fiduciary knowledge, provides appropriate responses and solutions to clients
- Develop presentation materials, update relevant databases, support ad-hoc client requests/inquiries, and visit clients together with other members
- Liaise with teams in New York and other global offices for strategic/product info.
- Translate and update presentations and collateral marketing materials
- Coordinates with other areas within the firm to ensure that high quality and comprehensive client service is provided to all clients.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to speak, read and write English and Japanese with fluency
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (MBA, CFA, or progress towards one is a plus)
- 3-5 years of related experience required preferrable but we welcome candidate with strong potential and desire to learn and grow professionally
- Demonstrates inclusive behaviors in support of a culture that values diverse perspectives
- Is able to abide by the firm’s hybrid work arrangement policy in the Tokyo office (4 days in-office/1 day remote)
Necessary Skills and Abilities:
- Skilled use of Bloomberg, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Morningstar
- Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and Japanese
- Must be able and willing to work in a team-oriented environment from a satellite location
Beneficial Skills (not necessary):
- Knowledge of real estate and REITs, broad market equities, listed infrastructure, preferred stocks
Working Conditions:
- Official work hours are 9am to 5:00pm; must be able to participate on conference calls during non-business hours
