About the Role
As an Automation Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions that improve efficiency across business operations. The role focuses on connecting systems, automating manual workflows, and building scalable automation solutions using scripting, APIs, and automation platforms.
You will work closely with engineering and business teams to identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions that streamline processes across departments. This role sits within a collaborative engineering team of around six engineers and will contribute to building automation capabilities across the organisation.
The position is expected to operate at a mid-level, with opportunities to work on a range of automation initiatives across the business.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain automation workflows using a combination of front-end automation, scripted automation, and API integrationsDevelop automation solutions using Python and modern automation toolsConnect disparate systems across the business to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiencyDesign integrations between platforms using APIs and workflow orchestration toolsWork closely with engineers and stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate them into technical solutionsMaintain and improve existing automation solutions to ensure reliability, scalability, and performanceContribute to documentation and best practices for automation across the engineering teamSupport initiatives such as finance automation projects, connecting different finance systems to automate manual workflows
Requirements
Strong experience with Python for scripting, automation, and integrationsExperience building and maintaining automation workflows across business systemsFamiliarity with API integrations and system-to-system communicationExperience working with automation platforms such as Copilot Studio or similar toolsUnderstanding of automation design patterns and workflow optimisationAbility to work collaboratively within cross-functional teamsStrong attention to detail and a reliable execution mindset when delivering automation solutions
Nice to Have
Experience with Copilot Studio or other AI-assisted automation platformsFamiliarity with automation tools such as Blue Prism or similar RPA solutionsExperience with workflow orchestration platforms such as n8nExposure to building automation solutions that connect finance or operational systemsInterest in expanding automation capabilities using AI-driven automation or low-code platforms
