Position Summary:
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Civil/Concrete Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and details of the project’s contract management, documentation, and reporting, making this role vital to the project management team.
Effective coordination ensures that information is clear and timely, and that construction work progresses without interruption. Key duties include completing quantity take-offs and marking up drawings using drafting or document management software such as AutoCAD or Bluebeam.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with carpenters, vendors, engineers, and subcontractors to support project coordination.Complete quantity take-offs and assist with ordering materials including concrete, rebar, lumber, and related accessories.Coordinate material deliveries to ensure timely availability on site.Review and markup drawings using drafting or document management software such as AutoCAD or Bluebeam.Thorough understanding and proper interpretation of the full scope of the project work.Prepare job status reports and other reports as required for reporting to senior management.Assist in preparing, distribution and communicating document requirements for equipment start-up, commissioning and equipment control logs (inc. green/red tagging). Assist in the project close out including in-house detailed deficiency/incomplete work list and timely completion and sign off of each item.Obtain field experience for career growth by assisting trade superintendents and project management in the project field.
Qualifications:
Construction related formal education program – Civil or Structural degree/diploma.1-5 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training & experience.Proficient in construction contract drawing and specification interpretation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under high pressure.High level of initiative and keen interest in technical problem solving.Able to work with minimal supervision.Previous experience in industrial, water, or wastewater construction is an asset.Reliable transportation to and from the project site is required.
