What you’ll be able to do
We are seeking a Construction Inspection Field Manager to oversee field inspection operations across Western Pennsylvania, including the Pittsburgh region and surrounding counties. This is a full-time position supporting our Pennsylvania construction inspection services team.
In this role, you will lead and manage field inspection staff, coordinate daily inspection activities, and ensure construction projects are executed in compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements. You will serve as the primary field liaison between clients, contractors, and project stakeholders while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of construction inspectors and field staff
• Coordinate and manage daily field inspection activities across multiple project sites
• Ensure all construction work complies with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable codes
• Monitor contractor performance, schedules, and quality of work
• Review and approve daily inspection reports, field documentation, and quantity tracking
• Serve as the primary field contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize project delays and cost overruns
• Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
• Conduct site visits, audits, and quality assurance checks
• Assist with project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to senior management
The minimum requirements we seek
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of construction inspection experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of PennDOT standards, specifications, and procedures
• Experience managing highway, bridge, or infrastructure projects
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical documents
• Proficiency in construction management software and reporting tools
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Western Pennsylvania
