The Director, Corporate Accounting, is a senior leader within the Controllership organization, responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and scalability of Sugar’s global accounting operations.
Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, this role owns the global close and financial reporting process and leads core accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and International Accounting. The Director will strengthen internal controls, enhance accounting processes, and ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines operational execution with process improvement and team development. You will partner closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support growth, operational excellence, and strategic initiatives, including acquisitions and systems optimization.
**This role operates on a hybrid model, with a mix of remote work and in-office collaboration at our Denver, CO location, specifically, working in-office a minimum of 3 days per week.**
Impact You Will Make in the Role:
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reportingLead preparation of support the external audit and tax processOversee global accounting operations, including GL, AP, treasury, and international entitiesPartner with Human Resources to manage international payroll, ensuring compliance with local regulations and proper accounting treatmentMaintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies in accordance with US GAAPDrive process improvements and system optimization, including ERP enhancementsSupport acquisition integration, including financial reporting and system alignmentCollaborate cross functionally to provide practical, compliant solutions that support business needsDevelop and lead a high performing accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA strongly preferred12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting and corporate accountingProven experience leading global close and financial reporting in a multi-entity consolidation environmentStrong experience managing accounting for international subsidiariesDeep working knowledge of US GAAP and its practical applicationExperience preparing audited financial statements and supporting external audit processesExperience building and improving internal controls and scalable accounting processesExperience with major ERP systems, preferably NetSuiteDemonstrated ability to lead and develop high performing teamsStrong communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to partner effectively across the organizationHigh level of ownership, sound judgment, and commitment to accuracy

Experience in a high growth SaaS or technology company preferredExperience supporting acquisition integration initiatives
