At DSL-01 (part of SkyNRG), you will play a central role in delivering Europe’s first dedicated SAF plant in Delfzijl. As Director Project Control, you lead the Project Controls team and safeguard the financial performance of this flagship project.
As Director Project Control you lead the Project Controls function and act as the financial authority within the project organization, ensuring that ambition is translated into disciplined and predictable execution.
You are accountable for the full scope of project cost control, covering the LSTK execution by the main engineering contractor, third -party utility connections, owner’s costs, and supporting contracts. You provide clear insight into budget performance, forecast to completion, contingency usage, and risk exposure. Based on rigorous analysis, you advise senior leadership on financial implications and required corrective actions.
You establish and continuously strengthen cost control procedures, reporting standards, KPI frameworks, and benchmarking methodologies. You challenge contractor variation claims with confidence and substance, lead quantitative risk analyses, and ensure that cost-related mitigation strategies are actively managed.
In close alignment with project lenders, financiers, and key stakeholders, you oversee transparent and robust cost reporting, enabling timely funding decisions and maintaining trust at the highest level.
Beyond DSL 01, you deliver a project control framework that sets the standard for future SkyNRG projects. This role requires strategic judgment, commercial strength, and the ability to operate as a trusted advisor within a complex, capital -intensive environment.

Relevant higher education in an engineering-related field
20+ years’ industry experience with mayor capital project controlling (oil/gas/chemicals projects)
Prior experience with cost estimating and cost benchmarking
High integrity
You are analytical, communicative, a team player, proactive and fun
You have excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English
DSL-01 is SkyNRG’s frontrunning renewable fuels facility in Delfzijl, Netherlands. The plant will produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from residual fats and greases using the HEFA (Hydrotreated Esters and Fatty Acids) pathway, with additional renewable products like butane, propane, and naphtha as by-products.
DSL-01 is the first facility in Europe dedicated entirely to SAF and its by-products. Once operational, it will produce 100,000 tonnes of SAF and 35,000 tonnes of sustainable by-products per year, cutting greenhouse gas emissions by around 80% compared to conventional jet fuel.
Construction started in 2026, with first fuel expected in 2028. The project includes the main facility, pipelines, and temporary work areas. At DSL-01, you will be part of a team building a state-of-the-art industrial plant from the ground up, contributing to a truly sustainable energy future.
