This is a unique opportunity to build and lead the QHSES organisation for DSL-01, ensuring all systems, processes and permits are fully in place before operations start. You safeguard quality, safety, environmental and social standards, secure full regulatory compliance and prepare the site for operational readiness.
Key focus areas include implementing a robust Integrated Management System, achieving ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certifications, preparing and leading BRZO inspections, managing environmental and change permits, supporting REACH registration, and ensuring structured HSE training and reporting.
Your key responsibilities
Build, implement and continuously improve the Integrated Management System
Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory QHSES standards
Lead ISO certification processes and external audits
Prepare and guide the organisation through BRZO inspections
Manage environmental permits and change permit applications
Maintain compliance registers and risk assessments, including RI&E and exposure assessments
Lead serious incident investigations and follow up on corrective actions
Act as primary liaison with authorities and external stakeholders
Align site activities with corporate HSE and support the Site Director on QHSES matters
In this role, you ensure professional execution, regulatory alignment and risk mitigation during the critical pre operational phase and beyond.

You recognize yourself in the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety or related field (Master’s preferred)
10+ years of experience in health and safety leadership
At least 5 years in major hazard / SEVESO sites
Strong understanding of EU occupational safety regulations and SEVESO requirements
Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and VBS (SEVESO)
Experience with environmental permitting and change permit processes
Risk-based approach to safety and compliance
Knowledge of “work as done” principles
Safety professional certification (e.g. NEBOSH, HVK, MoSHE) or willingness to obtain
DSL-01 is SkyNRG’s frontrunning renewable fuels facility in Delfzijl, Netherlands. The plant will produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from residual fats and greases using the HEFA (Hydrotreated Esters and Fatty Acids) pathway, with additional renewable products like butane, propane, and naphtha as by-products.
DSL-01 is the first facility in Europe dedicated entirely to SAF and its by-products. Once operational, it will produce 100,000 tonnes of SAF and 35,000 tonnes of sustainable by-products per year, cutting greenhouse gas emissions by around 80% compared to conventional jet fuel.
Construction started in 2026, with first fuel expected in 2028. The project includes the main facility, pipelines, and temporary work areas. At DSL-01, you will be part of a team building a state-of-the-art industrial plant from the ground up, contributing to a truly sustainable energy future.
