The Opportunity
Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Site Manager, Fanning Centre, the Transportation Dispatcher is a supervisory position responsible for supporting the efficient operation of Transportation Services. This role requires a reliable, organized, and professional individual who will play a critical role in coordinating daily transportation activities, ensuring effective scheduling, maintaining clear communication with drivers, and supporting the timely delivery of services to clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule daily transportation requests.
- Dispatch drivers and monitor routes to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with drivers, site staff, and leadership.
- Respond to scheduling changes, delays, and urgent transportation needs.
- Track vehicle locations and adjust assignments as required.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, incidents, and service logs.
- Schedule vehicle maintenance
- Support compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support driver training and on-going education and testing within the department
- Assist with reporting, data entry, and documentation as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduation from Grade 12 or equivalent is required (post-secondary education in logistics, administration, or a related
field is an asset).
- Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics, or coordination experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of local geography is an asset.
- This position requires high attention to detail, initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor are required; Experience in a health care environment is an asset.
