We are looking for an Electronics Technician to join our team and support the assembly, testing, and debugging of our robotic systems. This role is hands-on and critical to our rapid prototyping, troubleshooting, and hardware validation efforts and includes mechanical and electrical assembly and testing.
Key Responsibilities
Support the assembly and testing of robot prototypes
Assemble and wire electrical harnesses, connectors, and PCB assemblies according to schematics and mechanical drawings.
Perform precision soldering (through-hole and surface mount) for circuit board repairs and prototype builds.
Support the assembly of robotic actuators, sensors, and mechanical subsystems, ensuring proper fit and function.
Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers to troubleshoot power electronics, motor controllers, and embedded systems.
Assist engineers in diagnosing electrical and mechanical failures, performing root cause analysis, and implementing fixes.
Conduct quality control inspections of PCBs, wiring harnesses, and assembled components before integration.
Build and terminate custom wire harnesses for power distribution, motor controllers, sensors, and embedded systems.
Ensure proper crimping, insulation, and strain relief for long-term reliability in robotic applications.
Maintain electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, documenting changes and improvements.
Organize and maintain the electronics lab, tools, and inventory of electrical components.
Assist in designing and maintaining test rigs for motor performance testing, power analysis, and sensor validation.
Support engineers in integrating and validating new PCB designs and embedded systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 3 years of hands-on experience with assembly, wiring, and soldering in a hardware development or manufacturing environment.
Education: Associate’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field or equivalent military/work experience.
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
Comfort working with hand and power tools for mechanical assembly
Hands-on experience assembling wire harnesses, PCB components, and electromechanical systems.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and lab test equipment.
Familiarity with 3D printing, CNC machining, or other rapid prototyping tools.
Ability to work independently, follow detailed assembly instructions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-have Qualifications
Familiarity with robotics, aerospace, or automotive electrical systems.
Experience working with lithium-ion battery systems and power management circuits.
