Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, prototyping, testing, and scaling the mechanical systems for our humanoid robots. This role requires a strong background in mechanism design, mechatronics, and manufacturing, coupled with the ability to bring products from concept to volume production.
Key Responsibilities
Prototyping and Design: Develop prototypes and refine designs for robotic mechanisms and subsystems.
Mechanism Design: Create and optimize precision mechanical systems, including linkages, joints, and actuation systems.
Mechatronics Integration: Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate sensors, actuators, and control systems.
Industrial Design: Partner with in-house designers to meet product aesthetic and cosmetic requirements.
Manufacturing Expertise: Design parts for machining, casting, 3D printing, and other manufacturing processes.
Global Supply Chain: Work with suppliers and manufacturers worldwide to source components, manage production timelines, and maintain quality standards.
Testing and Analysis: Perform life-cycle testing, quality assurance, and failure analysis to validate designs and ensure product reliability.
Volume Production: Oversee the transition of designs from prototype to mass production, including working directly with manufacturing partners globally.
Documentation: Maintain detailed design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and test data.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on robotics, consumer electronics, or similar industries.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of prototyping and mechanism design.
Proficiency in designing machined, cast, and 3D-printed parts.
Experience with mechatronics, including sensors, actuators, and motion control systems.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and working with a global supply chain.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., OnShape,SolidWorks, NX, or similar).
Familiarity with testing, life-cycle analysis, and quality assurance methodologies.
Volume Production: Demonstrated experience in scaling designs for high-volume manufacturing.
Nice-to-have Qualifications
Previous experience in robotics or control systems.
Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools for stress, thermal, and dynamic analysis.
What We Offer
The opportunity to work on groundbreaking robotics technology, enabling the next generation of humanoid robots to interact dynamically with their environments.
A collaborative and innovative environment that fosters creativity and exploration.
