The Covanta Environmental Solutions (CES) team is looking expand its team to hire a
Solutions Sales Manager
that will sell into both Energy-from-waste (EfW) facilities and the expanding portfolio of environmental solutions providers. The successful candidate will develop relationships with prospective and existing waste generators and sell the CES non-hazardous industrial waste, assured destruction, landfill avoidance, and other environmental services for the assigned geography, customers and facilities. The candidate will coordinate with the Customer Service and Waste Approval teams to ensure all aspects of existing accounts are efficiently and effectively managed. The candidate will work closely with other Sales Managers to facilitate the sales process.
Responsibilities include:
- Grow New Business – Identify and develop new business opportunities to grow non-hazardous industrial waste revenues for CES.
- Forecast and Budget – Will actively input, communicate and oversee the monthly forecast and annual budget process for assigned facilities, direct accounts, and 3rd-party environmental service companies.
- Sales and Administrative Processes – Will follow established protocols regarding contracts, credit, pricing, procedures, and documentation.
- Will perform other duties as required.
- Territory will be Washington, D.C., metro area
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in sales and account management in the Hazardous or Non-hazardous waste industry preferred.
- Ability to easily communicate the needs of the Covanta waste approval and facility operations processes to clients.
- Ability to contribute both as a sole contributor and as a team member.
- Ability to communicate the CES value proposition across all levels of the client organization.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated and technical industry.
- Travel – mostly within region, but up to 25%
