About the role
On behalf of a collaborating audit firm in Athens, we are seeking to recruit an Experienced Auditor. The firm is part of a well-established international association of independent accounting, tax, and advisory firms with a presence in more than 90 countries worldwide.
The organization combines international expertise with a strong local presence in Greece, providing high-quality audit, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio. Key duties & Responsibilities
As an Experienced Auditor, you will play a key role in the execution and supervision of audit engagements while working closely with senior management and clients. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and execute audit engagements in accordance with applicable auditing standards and firm methodologies.
- Review financial statements, accounting records, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant reporting frameworks.
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior auditors throughout the audit process, ensuring quality and timely completion of tasks.
- Identify key audit risks and contribute to the development and implementation of effective audit strategies.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, building strong professional relationships while delivering high-quality service.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality control procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies, processes, and best practices within the team.
Requirements
What you bring
We are looking for a professional who has the following qualifications and skills:
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in external audit or in an accounting/audit firm.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
- Qualification: Professional qualification (ACCA / ACA / SOEL or equivalent) in progress or completed will be considered an asset.
- Audit Expertise: Strong knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); familiarity with audit tools is a plus.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Greek and English, both written and verbal.
