Subcontractor Supervision (Fabrication Oversight)
Act as Site Representative at yard for subsea structure fabrication.
Monitor subcontractor fabrication performance under the supervision of the Project / Package Manager.
Ensure fabrication activities follow the approved sequence, drawings, ITPs and project specifications.
Verify subcontractor manpower qualification and certification (welders, NDT, inspectors).
Conduct daily yard inspections to track progress and workmanship quality.
Report deviations, delays or technical issues to project team.
Project & Technical Coordination
Interface with Project Engineers, QA/QC team, planners and fabrication management.
Review fabrication schedules, welding plans, inspection hold points and resource allocation.
Ensure timely closure of NCRs and corrective actions.
Monitor material traceability and documentation flow (MTCs, WPS/PQR, welder qualifications).
Provide regular reporting (progress, quality status, risk assessment).
Quality & Compliance
Enforce compliance with approved procedures, fabrication specifications and subsea project requirements.
Ensure adherence to international codes and standards (e.g. ISO, DNV, ASME as applicable).
Witness key inspections (fit-up, welding, dimensional control, NDT, FAT if applicable).
Ensure safe and controlled fabrication environment aligned with HSE requirements.
Support resolution of technical queries and site clarifications.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Welding or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Experience
Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in fabrication / heavy steel structures, ideally in offshore or subsea projects.
At least 3 years in subcontractor oversight or yard supervision role.
Experience with subsea structures, jackets, manifolds, foundations or offshore steel assemblies strongly preferred.
Previous experience with international EPC contractors or offshore operators is an advantage.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of welding processes, structural fabrication, dimensional control and NDT.
Familiarity with ITPs, quality documentation and vendor surveillance.
Understanding of offshore / subsea project requirements.
Ability to review fabrication drawings and technical documentation.
