Evervault is building the security layer of the internet. Developer-first primitives for encryption, tokenization, and secure compute - currently focused on payments, where the stakes (and the compliance burden) are highest.
We help engineering teams collect, process, store, and enrich their most sensitive data - and comply with the frameworks that govern it. Our customers range from early-stage startups to the largest merchants and payment service providers on the internet, including Rippling, Ramp, and Sorare.
We're backed by Index Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and Frontline Ventures - with angels including Dylan Field (Figma), Olivier Pomel (Datadog), and Alex Stamos (former Facebook CSO).
You'll be the first product hire at Evervault. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering & Product, working alongside the CEO and a team of exceptional engineers.
This is not a project management role with a product title. You'll be in the field - talking to customers, understanding their payment stacks, identifying where we can create the most value, and shaping what Evervault builds next.
You'll own product strategy and execution for your area. That means deep customer discovery, commercial thinking, and the ability to translate what you learn into products that developers love and businesses pay for.
We're building payments infrastructure - tokenization, card network integrations, account updater, 3D Secure, dispute management, and more. The domain is complex, regulated, and high-stakes. You don't need to know it all on day one - but you need to learn it fast.
Find the next opportunities. Spend the majority of your time with customers and prospects. Understand their problems deeply - not just what they're asking for, but what they actually need.
Own product strategy. Define what we build, why, and in what order. Make hard prioritisation calls with incomplete information.
Drive commercial outcomes. You think in terms of revenue, retention, and expansion - not just features. You understand how product decisions create (or destroy) business value.
Shape the developer experience. Evervault's customers are engineers. You'll need to think about API design, documentation, SDKs, and developer workflows with real technical empathy.
Work end-to-end. From discovery through to launch, adoption, and iteration. You write specs, you ship, you measure, you learn.
Partner with engineering. You won't throw requirements over a wall. You'll be embedded with the team - making trade-off decisions together, unblocking work, and maintaining momentum.
Build the product function. As the first product hire, you'll shape how product management works at Evervault. The processes, the rituals, the standards - you'll help set the bar.
Obsessively customer-centric. You build conviction from the field, not from a desk. You talk to customers constantly - not because it's in your job description, but because you can't imagine doing product work any other way. You have a nose for commercial opportunity and you know how to turn customer insight into product strategy.
Technically excellent. You have an engineering background or equivalent technical depth. You can read code, reason about system architecture, and have an informed opinion on API design. You build credibility with engineers because you understand their world - not because you can draw a flowchart.
A fast learner. Payments infrastructure is complex. Card networks, scheme rules, PCI compliance, multi-PSP orchestration - there's a lot to absorb. Domain experience is a significant advantage, but we care just as much about your rate of learning. You pick things up quickly, ask sharp questions, and build expertise fast.
Independent and high-agency. You don't wait to be told what to do. You identify the highest-leverage problem, form a view, and move. You're comfortable operating with ambiguity and making decisions with imperfect information. You've done this before in environments where there wasn't a playbook.
Commercially minded. You think about product through the lens of the business. Pricing, packaging, competitive positioning, sales enablement - these aren't someone else's problem. You understand that great product work creates commercial outcomes.
An excellent communicator. Clear writing. Sharp thinking. You can present to a customer, write a product brief, and explain a complex trade-off to the board - all in the same week. You tailor your communication to your audience without losing substance.
A product athlete. You're versatile. Strategy one day, customer call the next, writing a spec the day after. You don't have a narrow definition of your role. You do whatever the product needs - and you do it well.
A good human. Kind, generous, low ego. You thrive in a collaborative environment with people from different backgrounds. The kind of person who makes a team better just by being in the room.
We care deeply - about each other, our communities, and the people we work with. Kind, generous, open-minded, and invested in each other's success.
Deep thinking and the relentless pursuit of knowledge. We learn publicly, share what we know, and believe extraordinary work comes from extraordinary thinking.
We believe in what we're building and keep the faith. Collaboration thrives where there is enthusiasm and active optimism.
Wow the User. Exceptional is our standard. Our fundamental product is trust.
Sign Your Name. High quality, high bar. We only ship work we're proud to put our name on.
Push the Limits. We move with unusual pace and energy. If there's a way, we'll find it. If there isn't, we'll build it.
Win as a Team. Collaborative glory over individual heroics. We pool resources, challenge each other, and celebrate together.
First product hire. You'll help shape the function from scratch - the strategy, the processes, the culture. This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up.
Real infrastructure, real scale. We process millions of card transactions. This isn't a toy.
Small team, outsized impact. ~30 people. You'll have a seat at the table from day one.
Hard, interesting problems. Card network integrations, encryption at scale, secure compute, regulatory compliance. Complex, consequential, and intellectually demanding.
World-class backers. Sequoia, Index Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, and angels from Figma, Datadog, and LinkedIn.
Growing fast. Scaling 4x this year. There will be opportunities to build and lead a product team as we grow.
Developer-first DNA. We're building for engineers, and we're built by people who care about craft.
