We’re hiring a Video Animator to partner with a fast-growing consumer wellness brand preparing for a high-profile product launch. This is a pure creative execution role, focused on producing short-form 2D animated content that brings a whimsical cast of brand characters to life. The work is high-volume, detail-driven, and stylistically consistent — ideal for an animator who loves character work, storytelling, and daily creative output.

If you enjoy building a recognizable visual universe, executing from storyboards, and collaborating closely with a creative director to ship polished animation every day, this role is designed for you.

Accountability

As a Video Animator, your success will be measured by your ability to consistently deliver high-quality, short-form animations that adhere to character guidelines, maintain visual and narrative consistency, and support a content-led launch strategy.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Animation Production

• Produce 20+ short 2D animations per month (typically 6–7 seconds each).
• Animate scenes based on provided storyboards and creative direction.
• Bring recurring brand characters to life through expressive motion and timing
  

Visual Consistency & Quality

• Maintain a consistent animation style aligned with established character guidelines.
• Ensure all assets meet quality standards for polish, pacing, and clarity.
• Apply templates and reusable elements to support efficient production at scale.
  

Creative Collaboration

• Work closely with a Creative Director to interpret storyboards and feedback.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed creative team across time zones.
• Contribute small creative decisions while staying within defined narrative boundaries.
  

Audio & Motion Enhancements

• Add simple sound effects and basic text animations where required.
• Ensure animations feel complete, engaging, and ready for social distribution.

Colleagues

You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders responsible for storyboarding, character development, and overall brand narrative.

Skills & Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals — those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As a Video Animator, your vertical strength will be 2D animation and character execution, while your horizontal strengths may include storytelling sensitivity, creative collaboration, and production discipline.

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Experience: 2–4+ years of experience producing 2D animated content for digital or social platforms.
• Animation Skills: Strong ability to animate characters with consistent style, timing, and emotion.
• Execution: Proven comfort delivering high-volume creative output on tight timelines.
• Tools: Proficiency in animation software commonly used for 2D character animation.
• Direction-Following: Ability to execute from storyboards and creative briefs with precision.
• Attention to Detail: High standards for polish, consistency, and visual clarity.
• Communication: Clear, professional English communication and responsiveness to feedback.
• Mindset: Reliable, creative, and comfortable in an execution-focused role without ownership of strategy or analytics.
  

Bonus skills:

• Experience working with recurring characters or serialized animated content.
• Familiarity with adding basic sound effects and text motion.
• Background in consumer brands, wellness, or playful character-led storytelling.

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 90 days with us.
