The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial records. This role handles day-to-day accounting functions, ensures accurate monthly closings, and provides the Accounting Manager with the data needed for high-level strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger Management: Prepare and record journal entries, maintain the chart of accounts, and ensure all transactions are classified correctly.
Month-End & Year-End Close: Execute closing procedures, including accruals, prepayments, and inter-company reconciliations to meet strict deadlines.
Bank & Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts to ensure 100% accuracy.
Accounts Payable/Receivable Support: Oversee or assist with the processing of invoices, expense reports, and collections as needed.
Fixed Asset Accounting: Maintain the fixed asset register, including recording additions, disposals, and calculating monthly depreciation.
Financial Reporting: Assist the Accounting Manager in preparing monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow).
Audit & Tax Compliance: Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for external auditors and assist with tax filings (VAT, Sales Tax, etc.).
Requirements:
●Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
●1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
●Superior communication skills in Arabic and English both written & spoken.
●Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
