The HRIS Manager is the strategic owner of HRIS, accountable for ensuring the platform supports scalable, compliant, and well-adopted people and finance processes. This role owns the HRIS roadmap, governance model, and vendor partnership, and serves as the primary internal decision-maker for system design and change.
Own the HRIS product roadmap, prioritization, and long-term vision
Act as the primary partner to external HRIS implementation and support vendors
Translate business needs into clear system requirements and design decisions
Establish and enforce governance, including intake, prioritization, and release management
Serve as the final decision-maker on system design tradeoffs (configuration vs. customization)
Drive adoption through enablement, training, documentation, and change management
Ensure data quality, process consistency, and audit readiness
Partner closely with People, Finance, IT, Legal, and Compliance
Manage and mentor the HRIS Engineer
6–10+ years of HRIS experience with deep HRIS exposure
Prior ownership of HRIS in a production, post-go-live environment
Preferred experience implementing HRIS
Strong stakeholder management and decision-making capability
Experience managing vendors and HRIS implementations
Comfort setting boundaries to protect system integrity
Strategic mindset with strong operational judgment
