The School of Health and Public Safety at SAIT prepares students for a dynamic career in the health care sector. We offer specialized training in diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, professional assistant programs, information management, and training for wellness professionals. Our programs are hands on, with students and instructors immersed in living classrooms and simulated training.
Reporting to the Academic Chair, Life Sciences Portfolio, the Instructor will be responsible for instruction in classroom, lab and simulation settings. This instruction will take place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with detailed schedules and locations provided in advance. You are a Registered Respiratory Therapist interested in a rewarding career in education.

How you'll contribute
Provide high-quality education to students in classroom, lab and simulation settingsFacilitate learning with electronic mediaAdhere to course outlines, profiles and curriculumFacilitate accreditation requirementsParticipate in Program Reviews and implement recommendations in a timely fashionPromote and support SAIT’s and Health and Public Safety’s goals and mission statementsPrepare additional study and lab materials, and set up and take down labsAssist in evaluating, organizing and maintaining program spaces, equipment, supplies, and learning material Set and maintain clear expectations for learnersEvaluate student progress and achievementProvide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learnersMaintain close contact with relevant industry sectorsPerform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
What you bring
Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist with the Saskatchewan College of Respiratory Therapists (SCRT)Membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) is an assetDegree in education or health sciences or related field would be considered an assetMinimum of 3 - 5 years’ work experience in a variety of clinical areasPrevious teaching experience is an assetAptitude for mentoring and coaching othersComfortable with public speaking, and able to convey course subjects to diverse students and learning stylesPossess a positive, respectful attitude, and a high commitment to student success and collaborationDemonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated computer skills are essential. Basic level proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
