TITLE:
IT Systems Engineer
LOCATION:
St. Louis, MO
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement, configure, and provide daily support of Networking, Virtualization, and Hardware platforms in a mid-market, technology-driven environment.
- Support and system management of WAN, LAN, and Core networks
- Support and assist internal customers, external clients, as well as appropriate systems vendors to:
- conduct requirements gathering and research
- resolve issues
- ensure documentation standards and procedures for operations are in place
- actively seek and evaluate opportunities for process improvements
- Participate in on-call rotation as well as other after-hours support and maintenance activities as necessary.
- Develop automation routines to replace manual processes and increase efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex network and application issues when escalated.
- Provide effective technical documentation to clearly communicate procedures to other IT personnel.
- Mentor team members in areas of strong functional expertise to assist with team cross-training and development.
- Complete certification training on new technologies, compliance standards, and security on an annual basis (Security+, Project+, ITIL, etc)
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience as a Network Infrastructure / IT Systems Engineer or similar relevant experience
- Associates Degree in Information Systems / Computer Science preferred
- Strong knowledge of VMware and related virtualization technologies (vCenter, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Understanding of cloud solutions and associated technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 administration
- Knowledge of Veeam Backup & Replication / Backup Technologies
- Knowledge of Windows scripting – PowerShell specific to Windows, VMware and VSAN
- Thorough understanding of server and client platforms along with networking and internet fundamentals
- Understanding of VSAN, VxRail, SAN Storage technologies
- The candidate must possess strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Candidate must possess strong documentation and communication skills
- The candidate must be flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- The candidate must have a broad range of technical skills with a strong desire to expand skillset constantly
- Must have the ability to follow established Change Control procedures to prevent unexpected interruptions to the production environment
- The candidate must possess exceptional customer service skills
- The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment and self-manage tasks
- Must be a positive, self-motivated individual who can complete goals independently
