SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the general supervision of the Superintendent, Operations, undertakes transit operational planning duties, including planned and unplanned transit detours.
GENERAL DUTIES
Provides suggestions for implementation of route detours from a planning and strategy perspective due to construction, special events, lane closures, and road closures submitted by sub-contractors, contractors, Project Managers and Senior Project Managers of the City of Hamilton. Attends meetings and liaises with other City of Hamilton Departments as well as external stakeholders such as Provincial and Federal staff on construction impacts.
Assists with scheduling WAC staff (Work accommodation staff) in facilitating detours, surveys, passenger counts, and other priorities identified by Operations, Strategy, and other partner departments.
Assists with related surveys and passenger counts, using manual and automated platforms.
Under the direction of supervision, responsible for detour management alongside Operations Superintendents staff. Issues Detour Notices, Operator Notices, and bus stop pole cards to be posted at transit stops. Supports Internal & External stakeholder communications, including Customer Experience & Innovation outreach, City of Hamilton online information including the City of Hamilton’s website.
Participates in the coordination of transit staff meetings, including monthly Operational Impact Coordination Team meetings, involving Transit Planning, Operations, and Customer Experience and Innovation staff.
Provides and reviews customer and operational impacts related to construction, special events, lane restrictions, lane closures and road closures and regular service and provides technical advice and direction to all parties involved.
Coordinates with Infrastructure team and operations for the construction and renovation of transit properties
Coordinates the annual Senior Grocery Charter Program (SGCP), including identifying boarding & alighting locations, routing and scheduling of the charter service in collaboration with the charter sponsors, and development of schedule materials for charter riders and operators.
Complies with City policies, procedures, rules, regulations and safe working practices.
Works in accordance with the provisions of applicable Health and Safety legislation and all City of Hamilton corporate and departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.
Performs other such duties from time to time, as may be assigned by the Manager and or the Senior Project Manager, which are directly related to the normal job function.
