Who we are at Osmo:
Osmo is a digital olfaction company, on a mission to give computers a sense of smell to improve the health and wellbeing of human life. Why? Our sense of smell both enriches and saves lives, and has a deep and direct connection to our emotions and memory.
Olfactory Intelligence has applications across industries including fragrance, manufacturing, security, medicine, and more. We believe in the power of automation and thoughtfully applied AI/ML to solve problems beyond the reach of human intuition alone. Osmo is headquartered in New York, NY, with a new facility in New Jersey, and offices in Somerville, MA.
The Opportunity
Following our Q3 2025 NetSuite implementation, Osmo is entering a critical next phase:
architecting the bridge between our digital core and our physical manufacturing floor. While
NetSuite established a foundational ERP layer, integration with manufacturing workflows has
been only partially successful. We are now implementing a new Manufacturing Execution
System (MES) and deeply integrating it with NetSuite to create a reliable, scalable digital
factory.
This is not a narrow IT administration role. You will operate as the architect of our
manufacturing systems stack—embedded in a high-performance engineering culture and
partnered with dedicated SREs and Software Engineers who support infrastructure and custom
middleware. You will leverage advanced AI development tools (Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to
accelerate development, documentation, and data governance, allowing you to focus on system architecture and operational impact.
What You’ll Do
Architect the Digital Factory
• Own the selection, technical architecture, and configuration of our new MES platform and its
integration with NetSuite
• Assess and stabilize current NetSuite manufacturing configurations, improving reliability of
inventory transactions, costing, and production flows
• Define clear system-of-record boundaries between ERP and MES
• Establish scalable integration patterns to support long-term growth
Engineer Robust Integrations
• Partner with SRE and Software Engineering teams to design and build API-first integrations
between ERP, MES, and physical hardware (robotic dosing systems, QC sensors, label printing)
• Design bidirectional data flows for process orders, BOMs, material consumption, and batch
genealogy
• Implement resilient error handling, reconciliation logic, and auditability across systems
• Ensure accurate financial impact of inventory movements and production transactions
Digitize Fragrance Chemistry
• Translate complex fragrance manufacturing workflows—recipe scaling, submix creation,
material allocation—into scalable system logic
• Design intuitive shop floor interfaces for manual dosing guidance and automated batch sheet
generation
• Implement quality control workflows ensuring full traceability from raw materials to finished
goods
• Maintain 100% batch genealogy and compliance-ready data structures
Data Governance & System Ownership
• Establish master data governance standards for materials, BOMs, process instructions, and
suppliers
• Define validation rules and transaction controls to protect data integrity
• Act as Product Owner for internal manufacturing systems, continuously refining workflows
based on real-time floor feedback
• Document system architecture, integration patterns, and operational playbooks
Innovation & AI-Augmented Development
• Leverage internal AI tools to accelerate SuiteScript development, automate documentation,
and streamline data mapping
• Continuously improve system performance and usability
• Identify opportunities to automate reconciliation, validation, and reporting workflows
What You Bring
NetSuite Certification
3+ years working with MES in a production environment
Proven experience designing ERP–MES integrations
Strong understanding of batch or process manufacturing (chemical, fragrance, food, or
similar)
Proficiency in JavaScript (SuiteScript), Python, or SQL
Deep understanding of inventory transaction flows and their financial implications
Experience working alongside software engineers and understanding API architecture
Experience integrating ERP systems with robotics or IoT hardware
Background in regulated manufacturing environments (GMP or similar)
Experience stabilizing or rebuilding systems after partial implementations
Salary Range: $135k-$160k
Why This Role Matters
At Osmo, your work directly dictates our ability to scale. You are building the nervous system of
an AI-driven fragrance powerhouse. The architecture you design will determine production
throughput, cost integrity, quality traceability, and regulatory readiness. Unlike a consultant
who hands over a project and leaves, you will own this system, see the direct impact of your
architecture on the manufacturing floor, and grow alongside a company defining a new
industry.
If this role inspires you we’d encourage you to apply. We are committed to recruiting, developing, and retaining an incredible team optimized for a diversity of thought, background, and approaches.
For all Full-Time Employees, compensation is just one component of Osmo’s total rewards approach, which is designed to support the well-being, growth, and long-term success of our team members. Depending on the role, this may include base salary or contract-based pay, along with access to health, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match; flexible paid time off and company holidays; and equity or incentive compensation for eligible roles. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location, internal equity, and other relevant business considerations. Osmo regularly reviews pay ranges and compensation structures to ensure they remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with current market data.
All employment decisions and responsibilities are determined based on current ability and your ability to grow, without regard to race, color, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age, marital status, physical, mental, or sensory disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
Recruitment & Staffing Agencies: Osmo does not accept unsolicited resumes from any source other than candidates.
