Logos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity needs of the commercial enterprise users and government users. We will help fill an important gap in the market, providing resilient, high-performance satellite-based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Business customers have contracts with agreed-upon performance standards for their broadband, and Logos will build these capabilities into the system from the beginning. Speed and reliability are the foundation of the system. Logos is designed to extend cloud and data center network connectivity anywhere in the world to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals.
Logos is led by a team of highly experienced engineers with proven track records in the networking and satellite industries.
As a Lead Mission Design Engineer, you will use your knowledge of astrodynamics to shape, build, optimize and maintain Logos’ satellite network constellations — bringing motion to mission. You will own the end-to-end design of the post-launch orbital insertion mission as well as stationkeeping to maintain constellation geometry.
Constellation Architecture: Optimize the constellation design, balancing payload and crosslink coverage with mission cost and complexity, subject to orbital mechanics
Advanced Trajectory Design: Use modern approaches in constrained trajectory optimization to plan low-thrust maneuvers for orbit raising and phasing. Plan deployment campaigns that support the timely commissioning of orbital planes.
On-station Maneuver Planning: Plan station-keeping and collision avoidance maneuvers
Mission Lifecycle Management: Own and track delta-V and propellant budgets; perform orbital lifetime & demise analyses; size and plan disposal maneuvers
Education: MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in trajectory optimization and mission design for LEO constellations.
Toolbox: Proficiency in GMAT, FreeFlyer, STK/Astrogator or similar mission analysis frameworks.
Programming: Strong software development skills in Python or C++ to automate analysis workflows.
PhD in Aerospace Engineering with specialization in mission design & modern trajectory optimization.
Experience with Constellation-level satellite networking simulation frameworks
Experience fielding LEO satellite communication constellations
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
