Logos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity needs of the commercial enterprise users and government users. We will help fill an important gap in the market, providing resilient, high-performance satellite-based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Business customers have contracts with agreed-upon performance standards for their broadband, and Logos will build these capabilities into the system from the beginning. Speed and reliability are the foundation of the system. Logos is designed to extend cloud and data center network connectivity anywhere in the world to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals.

The Mechanical Engineering Team is looking for a Structural Analyst to drive our spacecraft and payload component design into mass production and ensure structural performance throughout the lifecycle. This position will require strong analytical skills, communication, and first principals reasoning to be successful.
You should be prepared to work and thrive in a fast moving environment where you are comfortable taking vague requirements and direction and executing on the Logos product mission. We are seeking people who love to solve hard problems, have a bias for action and extreme task ownership.
Perform Structural Analysis (FEA, Hand Calcs) on components from initial sizing thru test
Drive design insights into Logos Payload Component and Bus Design to ensure component survival
Manage vendor and 3rd party analysts to parallelize work and ensure quality
Develop a state of the art spacecraft testing approach and facility geared toward mass production
Lead vibration testing and qualification campaigns
Generate unit and spacecraft specifications and for structural environments (ICDs)
Develop Analysis Processes and Analysis tools to perform structural analysis to be used across the company
BS/ME or higher in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering discipline
US Person for EAR/ITAR compliance
5+ years of experience working as a structural analyst (spacecraft, automotive)
Experience performing trade studies to drive the architecture of spacecraft and component designs
Experience using NASTRAN Finite Element Solver
Experience Analyzing Force Limited Dynamic load cases on assemblies (Random, Sine)
Expertise in generating high quality Finite Element Models
Experience calculating margins for composites, metallics, and various joining methods (e.g. bolted joints)
Proficiency using CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
Proficiency managing external analysts to ensure quality and plan out analysis tasks
Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills - We are looking for leaders
Masters Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or other related Engineering field
Experience working on aircraft, spacecraft, or automotive components
Experience Analyzing Force Limited Dynamic load cases on assemblies (Random, Sine)
Experience Analyzing Vibro-Acoustic load cases
Hands on Vibration Testing Experience and working in a production system
Experience generating unit level vibration specification for dynamic environments
Proficiency in presenting analytical results and insights to a diverse technical audience
Proficiency in Python, Matlab, or VBA
Proficiency using Femap/NASTRAN
Experience from engineering clubs (Baja/Formula SAE, “Design, Build, Fly”, Rocket/Cubesat)
