Senior Accountant
Logos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity needs of the commercial enterprise users and government users. We will help fill an important gap in the market, providing resilient, high-performance satellite-based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Business customers have contracts with agreed-upon performance standards for their broadband, and Logos will build these capabilities into the system from the beginning. Speed and reliability are the foundation of the system. Logos is designed to extend cloud and data center network connectivity anywhere in the world to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals.
Logos is led by a team of highly experienced engineers with proven track records in the networking and satellite industries.
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and take ownership of the integrity of our general ledger and financial reporting cycle. This is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the full accounting cycle, assisting with technical accounting reviews, recording transactions, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and managing period-close activities and financial statement preparation.
As our accounting team grows, we are looking for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is prepared to take on increasing responsibilities and complex tasks. This role is vital to ensuring the overall financial health and integrity of our systems as we continue to scale.
General Ledger & Chart of Accounts
Own and maintain the Chart of Accounts (COA); create, modify, or retire account codes in the ERP system (Quickbooks, NetSuite).
Assist the Controller to document accounting policies for account usage and mapping.
Review ledger activity for accuracy; investigate and resolve coding errors.
Support transition activities from outsourcing partners and train new team members
Journal Entries & Technical Accounting
Prepare and post complex journal entries: expense accruals, prepaid amortizations, lease accounting (ASC 842), etc.
Maintain the lease accounting schedule; calculate ROU assets and lease liability roll-forwards.
Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring reclassification entries.
Document accounting procedures and prepare accounting memos
Month-End Close & Financial Statements
Follow the monthly close calendar establish by the Controller; coordinate deadlines with internal and external process owners.
Prepare the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows in accordance with US GAAP.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for all significant accounts; investigate and clear reconciling items within the close period.
Assist Controller on the Preparation and distribution monthly management reporting packages to leadership.
Purchase Order Authorization
Assist Controller on the preparation and review of purchase requisitions approvals to ensure compliance with the Procurement Policy.
Audit & Compliance
Assist the Controller with the preparation of PBC schedules and supporting workpapers.
Maintain accounting policy documentation and internal control narratives.
Support SOX readiness or internal control assessments as the company scales.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
MBA, CPA, or CPA candidate preferred but no required
Experience
5+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus.
Deep knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 842 (leases) and accrual-basis accounting.
Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar) and Excel/Google Sheets.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to meet hard close deadlines
Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
