In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Camp Recreation Attendant
The Camp Recreation Attendant assists in the daily operation of camp recreational facilities and programs to ensure employees have access to safe, clean, and enjoyable leisure activities while living at the mine site. The role supports the delivery of fitness, wellness, and social activities that enhance employee morale and well-being in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in organizing and facilitating recreational, fitness, and social activities such as sports tournaments, movie nights, games, and wellness programs.
- Maintain recreation facilities, gyms, and equipment in clean, safe, and working condition.
- Set up, take down, and store equipment and supplies for events and activities.
- Greet and assist camp residents using the recreation facilities, ensuring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety rules.
- Monitor facility use and report maintenance or safety issues promptly to the Recreation Supervisor.
- Help promote recreation programs through posters, announcements, and digital communications.
- Support the coordination of employee wellness and fitness initiatives.
- Maintain inventory of recreational equipment, supplies, and cleaning materials.
- Provide general support during camp events and social gatherings.
- Follow all company policies, health and safety standards, and site procedures.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in recreation, hospitality, or fitness is an asset.
- Previous experience in recreation, hospitality, or camp operations preferred (mining, oil & gas, or remote camp experience an advantage).
- Basic understanding of sports, fitness, and recreational activities.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift or move equipment as required.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Working Conditions

- Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
