We are seeking a talented and hands‑on Platform Solution Engineer with a strong background in software engineering, DevOps and cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for a global API distribution platform — a distributed gateway system that routes, enriches and exposes APIs across multiple regions and partners. The platform is customer‑facing in functionality, exposing APIs and self‑service capabilities to external customers and developers through integrated portals and developer experiences.
You will own all aspects of the platform configuration, routing logic, business flows and plugins, while working closely with a central CAMARA‑based aggregation platform, Cloud SREs, Software teams, Security and product stakeholders. You’ll also be the technical guardian of the customer and developer portals, ensuring a smooth, intuitive and self‑service experience for API consumers and partners.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of and oversee the global API distribution platform, including API routing, traffic management and business logic processing.
- Lead the design, configuration and evolution of distributed gateway instances across multiple cloud regions and environments, ensuring consistency, resilience and low latency.
- Define and manage routing rules, transformations and enrichment logic, ensuring APIs are exposed according to business and security requirements.
- Own all plugin development and integration, including custom logic, policy enforcement and cross‑cutting concerns such as rate limiting, logging and observability.
- Collaborate with Cloud SRE teams on deployment planning, configuration rollouts and operational readiness for the gateway platform.
- Work closely with Software and Telco architects to align API exposure patterns with upstream aggregation and operator platforms.
- Partner with Security to implement and enforce authentication, authorization and traffic policies across the gateway platform.
- Oversee the customer and developer portals that expose APIs, documentation and self‑service capabilities, collaborating with UX/UI designers and product teams to improve the user experience.
- Drive API schema governance, documentation consistency and onboarding flows to ensure developers and partners can quickly discover and consume APIs.
- Ensure observability, monitoring and alerting are fully integrated, working with operations teams to detect and resolve issues proactively.
- Contribute to the global roadmap for the distribution platform, including scalability improvements, performance tuning and multi‑region failover strategies.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps or platform engineering roles.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Node.js or Java.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure or GCP) and distributed systems principles.
- Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Helm or Ansible.
- Proven experience designing and operating API gateway platforms, including routing, plugins and business logic.
- Strong grasp of API security, authentication and authorization using standards such as OAuth2, OIDC and JWT.
- Familiarity with message brokers, observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and logging frameworks.
- Experience working with customer and developer portals, including self‑service provisioning, API discovery and documentation.
- Excellent collaboration, communication and documentation skills to work effectively across cross‑functional and global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration for running distributed gateway workloads.
- Background in building or maintaining SDKs, developer tools or onboarding automation for API consumers.
- Exposure to AI or Model Context Protocol (MCP)-style integrations for context‑aware API usage and analytics.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, GitOps workflows and multi‑region deployment patterns.
- Experience designing UI/UX workflows or collaborating closely with UX/UI designers for admin and customer portals.
- Knowledge of edge computing, CDN integration or latency‑sensitive routing patterns. We are offering
