Innophos is hiring a Project Maintenance Engineer at our Geismar, Louisiana manufacturing plant location. A Project Maintenance Engineer executes capital and expense projects to reduce costs, improve reliability and provides an expedited ROI including the design, field construction and commissioning of new equipment and building installations. Range of projects includes safety, energy cost reduction, maintenance, raw material usage, infrastructure and capacity increase. Develops engineering studies for the plants and businesses. The Project Maintenance Engineer also works with the maintenance department with predictive and preventive maintenance programs, equipment failure analysis, and infrastructure maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Implement improvement projects (scope, cost estimation, request capital money, supervision of fieldwork, commissioning)Manages detail mechanical design and writes construction bid packagesPrepares capital request documentsGenerates purchase requisitions and monthly cost /project status reportsProvides start-up assistance on capital projects Investigate frequent equipment failures to help identify root-cause and implement long-term solutionsOversee outside contractors in support of plant requirementsDevelop and implement equipment reliability initiativesFormulate asset life plans for critical equipmentDeliver leadership implementing long term solutions to recurrent problemsQuickly provide troubleshooting and problem solving as difficulties ariseReview and optimize the predictive and preventive maintenance programsCommunicate daily with facility leads
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferredFive or more years of engineering experience in chemical or food processing industries
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Expert working knowledge of production equipment and chemical processesProject cost estimating and scheduling abilityKnowledge of industrial maintenance techniques (PM, PDM, CMMS, RCM, TPM)Understanding of field construction methods, good engineering and safety practicesAbility to coordinate, train, and motivate hourly employees and outside contractorsGood communication and technical writing skillsAbility to manage budget and to estimate costs related to various projectsKnowledge of capital money management and return on investmentStrong teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and support maintenance teams
